Quick question: are my to go bottles OK in a suitcase or my pockets for 5 days?

im going away for 5 days and im taking my to go bottles with me all of them and for the most part their gonna be either in the suit case or my pockets is that any problem for them being the majority kept inside.

Its a crap shoot. Some people have had no problem and some have had them confiscated at check in and they didnt get them back.

I would only take a few small to-go bottles and put them in a baggy marked toiletries. Keep the baggy in your carry on and be sure to add other stuff in there like deodorant and shaving stuff.

Here are the airport rules but from what I heard different airports are more strict then others.

i just flew from New Orleans to NYC…i had CTTM vile in my coat pocket.and a few other to-go bottles in my carry on bag…and all my other mones in glass bottles were in my Checked bag. I had no issues or problems.

I fly extensively and have had no problem with my ToGo bottles. I package them in a baggie along with toothpaste, a small thing of lotion and small bottles of cologne and throw it into my carry-on. I have yet to be stopped (knock on wood) when I take out the baggie and place it in the bin along with my shoes and belt.

The one thing I won’t do, however, is mark the ToGo bottles based on their content. For things like Instant Shine, sure, I’ll write that on the ToGo bottle. For things like Ammo, well, I just don’t write that down…for obvious reasons. I’m sure I could explain it to TSA but I’d rather not have to do so. First, my time is precious and, second, there’s no guarantee they wouldn’t freak out more.

FYI, I’ve also on occasion taken my little A314 bottle and the big bottle of TUTH. When I do so, I just have to take less lotion (or none at all and rely on whatever is at the hotel), a smaller toothpaste container and less cologne (by the way, the ToGo bottles are great for smaller cologne containers too).

So get your stuff in ToGo bottles and just don’t try taking 15 billion ziplock baggies and you should be fine. 1 baggie and no one will say a word. Two baggies and you might get someone to say something (it happened to me once on a return flight from Seattle to Anchorage…the ONLY time someone said anything when I had two baggies).

im actually not flying but using a different transportation i should have been more specific lol my question was actually regarded to the to go bottles losing potency when kept in bags for a long duration of time i knew i should have been more specific lol my bad

you guys still covered some grreat stuff though (^o^)

Since the travel bit has been covered, just a footnote on airports. I have noticed that the coastal airports (east and westsiiiide, sorry  ) are seriously way more strict than inland airports. For obvious reasons. SeaTac (Seattle-Tacoma) Airport is an absolute nightmare. Security is over the top and thieving is common - from both carry on and stowed luggage. Coming to Seattle, label your big bottles something harmlessly medical. Like “Prescription Strength Dandruff Control”.
That’s how we gotta roll, sometimes

The only problem you are going to have this way is with the lids coming off and the bottles leaking. The contents will not lose strength.

I use a cigarette tin that holds five togos perfectly and I’ve read of others using Altoids tins as well, with a bit of packing.

For my ToGos without labels, I just use some Scotch tape and wrap one piece around the bottle just over the twist off area to just below the twist off area. Kind of like how the labels are on the ToGo bottles that you order with product in them. Once I did that, I didn’t have a leak issue again.

That’s interesting because I’ve had the opposite experience with regard to theft. I flew from MO to AK and had a light jacket from Express stolen (it was my fav and you can no longer purchase it) from my checked lugguage. I’ve never experienced that from SeaTak and that is my hub to the world. If I fly down there for work, well, I only have carryon lugguage but when I fly to Miami, I go from ANC to SeaTak to MIA. Never had anything lifted.

Yes, that works but you still then have the problem of the phero you want going straight to the most inaccessable cornerof your pocket and a lot of unseemly rummaging IME.

A tin solves that completely and elegantly IME and will also contain any leak if it does happen!

A Tin Would Also Solve the Issue of a Small Hole in your Pocket and Losing a WHOLE ToGo of 314… <Sniff>…
