Argh, I am trying to pack after not having traveled since all these airport rules started.
I looked on the internet to figure some things out, but I fnd mixed answers, and not a whole lot of help.
My carry on:
I want to bring between 4-5 to-go’s in my carry on. They are either in their original bottles, or I have made labels for them. I don’t have other bottles to put them in, and there is no convenient drug store here.
Right now my quart sized zip loc bag contains a jumble of the to-go’s, lip gloss, liquid makeup that I transferred to a blank little plastic bottle, moisturizers, some e-liquid (for my e-cig) in a blank little plastic bottle, some perfumes. Everything is kind of mixed together, and the bag is totally full.
Also, I want to bring my e-cig in my carry on. I have it in a little zippered cosmetic case, along with some spare batteries and atomizers.
I also want to bring my laptop in my carry on.
Are these things okay?
My suitcase to check in:
Clothes, etc. I have a bottle of shampoo thats about half full, can I pack that? I don’t really have anything else to put it in.
I want to bring maybe 20 to-go’s, right now they are in a zip loc all together. As with the others, they either have their original labels or label-maker made labels. Will this be okay?
They are so security conscious at airports these days especially with any type of liquid. For example if you buy water and try to take it through security you will have to bin it. At Heathrow airport I have ran foul of that rule a few times and they ask you if you have any liquids in your hand luggage when you go through the security area.
Anything you do not want to risk losing I would place them in your main luggage, why risk it when you do not have to. You know at Heathrow airport they have actually got a x-ray machine just for your shoes.Lol
I can only speak to my own experience when traveling. In the last five years I’ve taken six trips, from the USA, to other countries. I put to-gos (twenty-seven all together with a few 30ml bottles included) in both my carry-on/purse and in my luggage with NP. I just make sure to tape the tops on in case they leak, which they often do. I even put them in a smaller plastic bag inside the quart bag for that reason. I think a few of us answered this question a couple of months back, no?
Stop worrying and pack it up, Baby! If they ask just tell 'em it’s stinking perfume! That’s not a lie. Really, don’t sweat it, it’ll be ok. Now, go have a good time and knock your BF off his feet! Then come back and tell us aaaaall about it!
Yes, a few months back we did cover that, though I never had the chance to get one of those nice cases you suggested.
So, I made a couple mixes in some empty small perfume bottles I found, and have a few to-go’s mixed with my lip gloss, and lots of other little random bottles of stuff for my carry on. Some are not labeled. Should I label them>
And will about 20 to-go’s in my luggage, in a zip loc bag, attract attention, do you think? Should I ask them about them when I check my luggage in? My daughter-in-law suggested that, so that way if they say no, they will just take them home, and they won’t get confiscated.
I’m just bring a bunch of stuff to play, because he thinks it sounds really fun, and wants to start playing and experimenting. Like doing blind tests and stuff, since he is brand new. I threatened him with Instant Jerk. He said no way, so maybe I’ll just have to peel off the label and then trick him into wearing some, lol.
Do you have to put all twenty in your carry-on? Can’t you put some in your luggage? If not, I wouldn’t call attention to it by asking anyone. I’ve only carried on about six to-gos and one 30ml bottle to reapply along the trip and just in case my luggage decides to go south, (which it has on more than one occasion), along with eye drops, nasal spray, etc. I don’t label anything and I’ve never been questioned but, as I said, that’s my personal experience.
Remember not to act all squidgy. It’ll just bring unwanted attention to you. If you draw attention, for nervous behavior, that alone could get you in trouble you don’t want to address. So, keep your mouth shut and be cool. You’ll be OK.
Okay, I have a couple to go’s mixed with my many small bottles of this and that in my carry on. The twenty to-go’s, I will just pack with my luggage, in a zip-loc, next to shampoo and some other perfumes, etc. Sheesh I’m only going for 4 nights, whats the matter with me?
I’m almost about to close my suitcase and go, so whatever happens, happens.
I’m never squidgy, cool as a cucumber, always. Maybe if I had a brick of cocaine or something fun like that, I might feel a little nervous. I just hate to lose things.
