this pretty much says it all…
wow.
even documentation has to be studied;its not enough just to have it.
Ok, my initial reaction was “this is why I don’t take pharmaceutical drugs.”, and then I got to thinking about how China has been demonized recently.
I think it’s a matter of being freaking careful of what you buy, especially anything of a chemical nature, and that goes tenfold for anything off the net… including untracable “pheromone” products… globalization, which isn’t all focused on China, makes it simple to evade regulatory control…
For example, there is a compellingly interesting novel anti-inflammatory, which is derived from many plant sources, a bioflavinoid known as Lutiolin… and Lutoilin is manufactured in quantity in China, although it could be made anywhere, the cost might be prohibitive… the only problem, potentially, is that commercial Lutiolin is made from peanut shells… now why would that be a problem ? Because peanut shells are a natural home to a fungus that produces a potent carcinogen, Aflatoxin…
Which is why some places in the third world that have poor storage conditions and high peanut content in their diet (i.e. Mozambique) also have high incidence of liver cancer…
Sooooo… does anyone know the condition of the peanut shells that are used in the manufacture of Lutolin ? Does anyone even know to ask ? Is imported Lutolin subject to an Aflatoxin test for each batch, as it damn well should be ?
Tp put things in perspective, the USDA takes Aflatoxin so seriously as a domestic contamination threat that they have established Aflatoxin testing labs around the country for US based crops, such as alfalfa…
Does China have an established Aflatoxin testing program ?
from a testing website:
“Aflatoxin, a toxin from a naturally occurring mold, is a Group 1 carcinogen, proven to cause cancer in humans. Aflatoxin is made up of the sum of 4 total aflatoxins: B1, B2, G1, and G2 ; however, in some cases only B1 is regulated. For example, within the European Community B1 is regulated at the 2ppb level.”
For whatever it is worth, 2 ppb means “two parts per billion”… that’s the max a EU crop product can contain of mold toxin…![]()
