Bought A314 + Instant Shine... New and need tips

Alright, Hi all.
Well as you probably understand, I’m new to this site. Right now I’m more looking for advice than friends…

I actually chose these two bottles at random. I thought that Instant Shine could be nice to try out since latley I’ve just gotten more aggresive and in over my head I guess… It would be nice to change all that for the greater goods…

Are there any good suggestions on using both these perfumes at once?

If you guys wonder, I’m out to meet new people and strenghten old connections for now… Girls aren’t my issue, they’re easy to catch if you just play the right game! But, I’d like to put focus on friendships and trust for this thread…

Please share your stories and tell me more of how your friends have reacted while you’ve used these products.

The best thing to do is read this thread and particularly the “sweet spot” guide for finding your best dose.

After that, combine at will. IS and A314 is a useful combo. Pleasant, mature and engaging - great around groups of people. Which A314 did you get? Oil base needs to be kept apart from sprays/colognes or you can wreck diffusion. Also, neither of these are perfumes/colognes. They have a light scent to aid diffusion but you may need a cover scent as well.

It would also be good if you could read this:

And continue with a little more info. That way we can give better advice and you earn the GC for future purchases.

Thanks for answering so quickly! We could move this thread to a more suited thread if you can do that. I’m not really sure if I could do it personally…

Moving on, I think that I bought the oil-based Alpha A314 ($109) and the IS in a spray bottle… I haven’t gotten the products yet, but hoping they’ll arrive tomorrow! So you’re saying that these two are a bad choice to combined together? exactly why should you keep oil-based and spray apart?

I’ll make a new thread for my introduction. Thanks again for your help!

You would have been better to carry on here. Too many similar threads from a new poster can trigger the spambot and get you stuck on moderation, which is annoying!

IMO you bought the best version of A314 - All versions have their values/strong points but the oil is by far the most subtle, complex, wide ranging, longest lasting and economic of them. It will serve you very well indeed.

The only downside of the oil is that it can take you a lot longer to get to grips with its effects compared to sprays but that’s also a good thing and I’m still discovering new facets to it a good couple of years down the line.

No! IS is an excellent companion to A314 - not at all bad to use together. Just you do need to keep your oil and spray points apart otherwise the sprays will make the oil diffuse far too fast (sprays/cover scents can be layered together OK).

Have a look here for ideas on app points:

Personally I tend to use my temples - just in front of the ears, the area just behind my ears down to where it meets my jaw and my wrists for oil application. That leaves my neck/throat, upper chest and forearms for sprays/cover scents, so its fairly easy to keep them apart. Personally I avoid hair applications because they can be unpredictable but IS is one that’s good to use there - other pheros can bind to hair and lead to stinky/buildup problems.

Don’t get too hung-up on app points, so long as it has decent circulation and is open to the air to diffuse, all is good. Although applying under light clothing is a tactic younger guys need to employ with the most sexually overt pheros (eg TUTH, IJ, Androstenone) in order to help slow the diffusion slightly.

One thing you will probably find with IS/A314 is that they have very different activity - A314 lasts longest, typically 8-10 hours per application (extendable to around 12hrs by applying over a good lotion), whilst IS will give its best for about three to four hours, then fades rapidly (most other spray pheros last around 6hrs), so you will probably need to top-up your IS once or twice to keep pace with an A314 application. Don’t worry though - it all soon falls into place.

Don’t worry, I kind of change the subject completely when I made a new thread focusing more on an introduction.

I couldn’t help noticing that you mentioned to avoid hair application… I’m a skinhead  The only facial hair I got is around my mouth. I read the App 101 and they said that A314 was good for selfusage on the upper lip… Now if I understand you correctly, you suggest to avoid applying A314 on hair? Or did you mean to avoid hairspray and other hair-applications while using the products? Why I’m asking is because it would be nice to try the A314 on my upper lip.

I certainly wouldn’t put A314 on my hair. Although as a skinhead, you might have enough diffusion from it being nearest the skin. The more hair you have, the more dependant you become on environmental heat to help diffusion and that limits where you can use pheros effectively - which is a shame as both A314 and IS can be used very widely. You would also need a lot of scrubbing with soap and water to shift the pheros and hair care products would be out as sprays/gels etc all trap pheros and kill diffusion altogether.

Oil more than any spray needs body heat to help it along - which is part of why oils are better in very hot places.

I’ve tried it, but I tend not to use the lip at all. I get enough be way of self effects from my existing app points and I’m prone to irritation from a couple of scents, so I avoid facial applications of any spray phero as your face is usually most sensitive to irritation. If you are doing it right, you won’t really need to use pheros there.

IS would be ok on your hair/head though.

Yeah, I’ll have to test it out for myself to understand what effect I will get by just wearing it. Thanks alot though! I’ll probably be back here after I’ve used the products
Until then!

Yes, trying is the best way as self effects do vary widely between individuals - some get them very strongly, others get very little. You need to find out where you sit on the range.

Same goes for subjects too - some will have a very obvious and sudden effect, whilst others will be less obvious and slower. Esp with A314, which can take repeated exposure to give its best/most dramatic results - search out “fallout effect” in Mens!

Hey, When you say ‘Oil base needs to be kept apart from sprays/colognes or you can wreck diffusion’… wat do u mean by that???

I mean that you use different application points. Spraying over oil will mess-up diffusion totally.
