They could’ve saved money on those experiments if they’d just asked me! Fires are one of my most favorite things in the world! An unused hearth is just a crime! The only excuse for not having fires consistently lit is 80+ degree weather (F). There’s seriously nothing more relaxing and meditative. Where do you find enlightenment and nirvana? Bonfires.

Sometimes I’ll put a YouTube video of a crackling fire on fullscreen while I’m milling about the house, lol! And I’ve become the designated fire-builder at any house that has a wood fireplace!
I know it’s not the same as a real fire place, but a few years ago I lived in a deep woods Oregon forest , in a big 5th wheel. I had some conversions done so I could use an electric fireplace. It was so realistic , put out heat and sound , and was so relaxing, especially with candles and oils around, and rain hitting the roof. I loved it sooo much! I’d curl up in my big cozy down comfy bed with tea And watch the fire.
Electric fires are great, too! My dad uses one, and it is beautiful!
