Can neroli cause nausia?

Hi ladies,
I am fairly new to pheromones and this forum. I wrote in the intro thread yesterday explaining who I am and my experiences with pheromones so far. Thanks to all who responded.

I wanted to add this: I was really sick all day Thursday. Nausea and headache bad enough to earn a trip to the urgent care clinic that evening. I thought I had possibly eaten something bad or had a stomach virus. Felt much better Friday. Problem is, I began to feel similarly today. Only thing in common was I had sprayed IS/a Wed. evening (without showering that night). I also sprayed IS/b this morning. By noon, I began to feel a little sick but not nearly as bad as Thurs. Both times I also sprayed a little Instant Honesty. Took a shower today when I realized there might be a connection with the pheromones. After awhile, I began to feel better.

This is my question: I rec’d the samples of Is/a and b. Could the neroli scent have made me sick? Or perhaps the pheromones themselves? Have any of you had experiences like this? Could it have been the Instant Honesty? I had tried IS/a a few days before and it had no adverse effect on me. I am puzzled. I hate to give up on IS/a or b so quickly, as I have read in several places on these threads how well it can work. Any input would be appreciated.

Thank you. Rosegirl

Aww sweetie. I’m so sorry to hear that.

Nope, I never felt nauseous with the scent of neroli (I actually think it smells really good, but then we all have different body chemistries…)

When I wore is/a for the first time, I did feel a bit weird and light-headed. When my mother tried it out the first time she kept telling me that she had a really bad head ache.

Maybe you’re super sensitive to the smell of pheromones? Sorry I’m not much of a help here, so another member might drop in and give you their 2 cents.

However, I’d suggest you not to wear any pheros for now. Give yourself a break if you’re feeling sick. And after a week or so when you’re feeling better maybe give it one more shot.

I hope you feel better soon!

It could have happened because your not used to the smell of neroli. I mean, even when I put it on it still makes my head spin and I get little headaches occassionally if I haven’t used it in a while.

What I suggest is try using it in smaller doses. Try just 1 spray and see what kind of effects you get (nausea and phero effects, of course). Just keep wearing it as much as you can and eventually you will build up a tolerance to it. Or you could return your product and see if you could get it in another scent. I’d suggest Grapefruit. It’s clean and refreshing

Well any perfume or scent can trigger nausia. Do you have trouble wearing regular scents. If not then I would say no its not the neroli that caused it you probably just had a bug.

Mones can give a mild headache when you first use them for some people. Its related to scent sometimes or sometimes it the rapid fire of the neuro transmitters in the brain caused a high dose of mones. Sometimes the alcohol carrier can do it. Its not likely they made made you sick enough to go to the emergency room though. People produce mones naturally all the time so you have been exposed to them all your life. Using synthetic mones just gives you control of what mones your emitting.

I suggest when you spray them on hold your breath till the mist settles on you then walk away from the area before inhaling. This prevents the head rush feeling from breathing in alcohol scents and mones. I do this with perfume as well.

Thank you for all of the answers. I am taking a break from mones for a few days and will dive back in next week. Think what I’ve been doing is sniffing it in right after spraying to see what it smells like (since I’m new to this). I’ll take Tisha’s advice and walk away right after I spray, try not to inhale much. Ordered EOW, which should come in next week. Hope I’m not gagging too much over that one. :open_mouth:

I remember reading a comment Diane999 made awhile back, she said she can’t even use neroli because of some sensitivity to it, maybe it is a similar reaction. You might want to drop her a PM.

My skin is sensitive to citrus EOs and I often get a rash if I apply directly to skin. Oddly inhaling or eating citrus or doesn’t bother me one iota. Not too fond of the scent tho’. Perhaps you’re allergic to neroli?

I don’t know where you are located physicaly, but…

There is a stomach virus going around all over the country right now. It causes nausea, vomitting, and extreme bloating/gasiness. That is the more likely culprit, especially since you had already tried the product without that reaction.

Diane

I have asthma. I’ve had it all my life. Neroli particularly triggers it really strongly.

Rose girl, When I first started using pheros I also became nauseated. It was worse with the neroli scents, particularly IS/A my teenage daughter also used to comment “your wearing those phero things again yuk!” with the neroli scents. Hang in there, just take it a little at a time. Try to find a cover scent that doesn’t bother you that you like. It got better for me and I wear one spray IS/A, Inst O almost every day with either MX134/ MX300 and MX135/235 depending on my mood. Hope you feel better good luck.

I recently just started with pheromones and I stopped spraying IS/A and such anywhere near my upper chest or hair because the smell was so strong it made me lightheaded and kind of sick because it smelled bad. Sprays to the wrist or elsewhere seemed to lessen the effects. Maybe try that?

I always get compliments from men on the smell of the Instant line (neroli) especially if they’re freshly applied.

Probably you’re just not used to the products and will soon get accustomed to them. There are a few people who really cannot tolerate the neroli and won’t acclimate to it, but for others it’s just a matter of an adjustment period.

THe neroli scent bothers my gf as well.I’d get my next is/a is/b customed if I were you if you have the same problem when you start re-testing.Grapefruit is definately a good clean scent.

Also yes spraying it elsewhere helps.
