I know, I know, that is quite the mix. But I had a lady saleswoman coming in to see me at work just after lunch. She sells marketing services, like brochures, catalogs, web development, etc. We are developing a new brochure, and she is handling the project for us. Her personal specialty is copy writing.
Anyway, she is a beautiful girl, 37, strawberry blonde, athletic, and she really knows how to dress. Super professional, but still feminine and sexy. Oh and she is single. I have been slowly working on her over the past month or so, working up to the point of asking her out on a real date. We have had a couple business lunches, but I kept it all business. I wanted to wait to pursue her big time until she finished my project. The project was approaching completion so I wanted to change my signature to something a little more sexy.
She set up the meeting, as it was a “wrap up” meeting where I was going to sign off on everything before it goes to the printer. She shows up in a nice high waisted skirt, button down blouse showing a bit of cleavage, and a tweed jacket. I greeted her and led her into my office. I could tell something was wrong. She sat down on my couch and I returned to my desk. As soon as I sat down she got up and closed my door. Hmmm… In my office, I almost never close my door. Its just my thing. Open door policy. Also, Im the boss so its just a smart thing to do if you have female employees.
As soon as the door closes, she says she has some bad news…one of the sub contractors she used on the project turned out to be a fraud and took off with our down payment. She says her company is going to cover it, but she may lose her job. She then proceeds to start crying like crazy. I grab a box of tissues and walk over to hand it to her and she stands up, still crying. I felt terrible for her so I reach out to give her a hug and tell her its going to be alright and she hugs me back and is squeezing me and wont let go, at the same time going through another wave of crying. I held her there for about 3-4 minutes and then she finally regained her composure.
I went back to my desk and we sat there talking about the whole thing for about two hours. She was worried that I was going to be really pissed off at her, because she kind of screwed up the project. I was a little annoyed, but we didnt lose any money,(her company did) and it only is going to set us back a couple weeks. She then said “your such a good man.”
We talked for a little while more, then I walked her out to the door, where she turns around and looks me with puppy dog eyes and says, “Thank you again for everything. Ill make this up to you. You are a wonderful man.” Then she leaves.
Wow. OK, here is what I think was going on:
A314- She is used to this, as she was exposed to it at all of our previous meetings. Also probably responsible for the “good man” comments.
P83- Probably responsible for all the nitty gritty details of the problem. She probably said too much to me.
P96- She was very emotional, and was probably holding it back when she arrived. I think this intensified things to the point she had to let it go, and start crying. Maybe some bonding with me as well?
Tuth- OK, Monday morning quarterbacking this, I kind of wish I hadn’t put tuth on this particular day, for obvious reasons. I don’t think she was in the right state of mind for this to have the desired effect. But I do think it had a noticeable effect though. When she had me in the long drawn out bear hug, she was literally smashing her breasts into me, while at the same time sobbing and gasping. This had the effect of her rubbing her chest on me. Kind of got me going a little bit, but not the time nor the place. My plan was to just add a little sexy to my normal signature, leaving that new slightly sexy vibe in her mind as she goes back to her office, and then follow that up in a day or two and ask her out. So I don’t know exactly how it hit her. She is emotional, upset, crying, probably feeling a little embarrassed, and I dropped a Tuth bomb on top of that mess, perhaps making her horny. If anything, it probably confused her.
Instant Shine- I think this got rendered impotent due to her emotional state.
So now Im wondering where the heck I take this next? I hope that the little bit of comfort I gave her doesn’t lock me in the friendzone forever. I’m not giving up on this, but I am going to give it a few weeks to let things settle down. Also, next time maybe I will just keep my mones in my pocket until I get a better read on the situation. Hard to take them off once you have engaged.
