So… I walk out to my silverado around 4:30am and see that my door lock was mangled. Damn near shit my pants as I was frantically searching my truck for my iPod. I didnt even bother looking for my wallet which had 3 credit cards, my military id and god knows what else, the only thing that was on my mind was my ipod----and my mones lolol! I had them all in my truck(is, ammo, tuth, a314), thank god they are still there. Bastards took my ipod though… And my ash tray. I mean what the fuck. Who takes a wallet with zero cash, an ipod, and an ash tray with maybe 5$$ worth of change in it? My stereo was still there… My 400$$ alpine deck… My rockford fosgate 12" subs… My amp… All still there. Im more confused than pissed honestly.
Anyone care to share their unfortunate mishaps with thieves?
I never used to lock my truck and last winter I had someone go through it. For some reason they stole a few quarters and left the $1 coins sitting right beside the quarters. I guess if they were smart they wouldn’t be thieves. I started locking my truck after that.
This summer one night I couldn’t sleep and I happened to be glancing out my window about 3 in the morning. I saw some punk ditch his bike at the end of my driveway then walk up to my truck. I flipped on the light and pounded on the window. He ran for his bike and yelled at his friends and took off. I got dressed and grabbed a baseball bat and went looking for them but I couldn’t find them. That was probably for the best. After driving around for 20 minutes or so I came to the conclusion that I pay the police to use their gas looking for them so I just went home and called them. I never did see a cruiser drive around though.
Damn mofo’s. Makes you mad as hell huh. In my experience it is usually low life druggies looking for something to sell for their next fix. No point in trying to fathom out why they took the ashtray & change, for their minds are a mystery to normal folk
Praise be they left your mones though. I feel your pain about the ipod though.
On boxing day here, my best friend had her car windows smashed and the mofo’s stole all her 9 year old daughter’s Christmas presents. Like I say no point in trying to fathom their brain cell out, they go from one fix to the next and sell what they rob within hours.
I’ll tell you something though, I work in the criminal justice system and if I come across them, prison will seem like the easy option.
Sigh.
Have had it happen several times while in college. Usually the stuff stolen was worth <$100 while the damage to the vehicle was >$500.
I got to the point where I no longer locked the doors and no longer kept anything in my vehicle.
I know exactly how you feel- its like being violated by a nameless, faceless idiot.
Maybe this will cheer you up- or maybe it won’t…
One of my coworkers bought a beater car for $100 for driving back and forth to work on days when he couldn’t ride his motorcycle.
One night his car was stolen, and the police recovered it 2 days later over in the ghetto section of town. The car was stripped for parts and was completely worthless.
