Dear Mr. President...........

More the reason why government is NOT the answer.

We need less government, less spending, less regulatory agencies and more survival of the fittest.

your comment about Lenin and Hitler made me think of this picture-

That’s what Hoover and his Secretary of the Treasury, Mellon said. How’d that work out??

That’s what they have been doing for the past 30 years (since Reagan), look where less banking regulation got us.:open_mouth:

Hint, credit default swaps.

The banking industry is in bad shape because of the the very poor judgment of the Clinton era to loan people looking to own homes that clearly couldn’t afford them. Just because you make $45K does NOT mean you should be qualified to buy a $500K house. Bad juju there and Barney Frank (the worlds biggest scumbag in my opinion) made $96 million off his Fanney May Freddie Mac sweetheart deal running it into the ground.

So instead Nationalising the banks, private industries, organizing labor, redistribution of wealth is exactly what Hitler had in mind too. His plan worked just right for the Germans and is exactly why the rest of the worlds eyes are now opening up to Obama’s policy. Lets of rhetoric coming out about how Barrack is spending the US into bankruptcy. China refuses to buy any more US bonds and is requesting a new global currency.

Yup sounds like United Socialist States are leading the world :stuck_out_tongue:

This is a tired old argument. The banks were forced to make bad loans by the government, specifically to give loans to people to open businesses in poor market areas. These loans were almost invariably faulted on because poor areas make for poor profitability. This was GOVERNMENT REGULATION at its finest. Banks were required to make 20% of their total loan amounts in this way. The banks lobbied to be able to play the stock game in order to offset these losses, forced on them by the government. The bad loans were passed on to the consumer as a commodity. The rest is history.

It all comes down to humanity at its finest. Say politicians are lying bastards, but what they are is human. Put any one human in charge of vast amounts of money and people, and 99.99% of them will fcuk everyone they can over if it gets them an inch ahead.

It’s just the way it is, Republican, Democrat, Independant, Labour, Communist, whatever. People just want to believe their side is above that and slander all the rest wothout thinking about it objectively and critically.

Ain’t none of that gonna change until you pass from this life.

Well said, well said.

Except I do believe we can change the world. :stuck_out_tongue:

I read Neal Boortz’s book on Flat tax, basically a % sales tax to the federal government, which would take most of the power and corruption out of politics, and shift the money from illegal activities into a profitable income to the federal government.

This would never pass as a flat consumption tax would shift the power away from politicians, and 1,000s of tax accountants would be out of business.

I blame this on Obama too

Mmk, i can’t tell if you were kidding there or not, so i figured i’d ask. And if you weren’t, then how in the world do you blame that on Obama? Hell, it’s been traveling the world and hacking into other government computers and NO ONE has been able to prevent it. That’s a pretty darn good little virus right there. No wonder Microsoft is offering $250K for info leading to the writer. Probably will employ him once they find him.

I figured while I was Obama bashing, I would throw on a bunch of stuff like that link. I do recall many people during Hurricane Katrina blamed not only the slow rescue (they were ordered to evacuate but refused to go. I mean certainly we wouldn’t want to interfere with their looting time  ), but also the Hurricane itself on GW.

So in the spirit of ridiculousness I decided to blame everything on Obama. Damn it now I have a hang nail. That F***ing Obama, if he had provided health care reform already my skin would be healthy and therefore I wouldn’t have this hangnail. Now I can’t even go to a hospital to get me some of that socialized medicine he’s been promising since he’s too busy smooshing with the G20 summit peeps. This is all Obama’s fault

damn right

Yay! More hopey changitude!!!

Obama: U.S. Right to Be Angry Over Bonuses at AIG (American International Group Inc. (AIG), (US026874)) at SmartMoney.com
“We’ve got a big mess that we’re having to clean up. Nobody here drafted those contracts. Nobody here was responsible for supervising AIG and allowing themselves to put the economy at risk by some of the outrageous behavior that they were engaged in. We are responsible, though. The buck stops with me. And my goal is to make sure that we never put ourselves in this kind of position again.”
Obama repeated his call for a new long-term economic growth model that moves the U.S. away from a “bubble-bust mentality.”
“I hope that Wall Street and the marketplace don’t think that we can return to business as usual. The business models that created a lot of paper wealth, but not real wealth in this country and have now resulted in crisis, can’t be the model for economic growth long term.”

Not that I think that Obama thinks these execs caused the whole problem. Nor do I think that you think I meant Obama thinks the execs caused the whole problem .
