Did anybody have to download Zend

I went to log onto Pherotalk, but I kept getting a page saying I needed to download a program called Zend. I had a trojan horse on my computer- don’t even know how it got on there- but anyways, I got rid of it, so I was thinking I had possibly deleted a important program at the same time- maybe, possibly? All I know is it happened right after downloading the trojan. or it could be the page was down. Not sure. Anyways, it started working suddenly, I was just wondereing if any of you had the same problem as well.

i think u had a virus that made ure web browser go to that site. if u dled this program u probably have a virus b/c im pertty sure no1 has had to dl a prog to access pherotalki

lol yeap its a heavy virus :o:O

Actually, I kept getting that too. I think a new program may have been downloaded to the forums to make them work quicker, and when we clicked for access to the boards they had it accidentally fixed to take us to the Zend site.

I tried to get on the board several times, even going back into my computer history and following links to lead me to individual threads. It would always take me to a page talking about a new Zend program. I gave up trying for a few hours. When I finally decided to try to come back, things were working regularly again. This happened during the late evening, early morning hours eastern standard time. This is the time I’m usually on here myself, but I’ve noticed there isn’t usually much traffic during that time most nights. Maybe a lot of people missed the Zend page for that reason.

Ya, thats what I was thinking, cause I downloaded zend, and it didn’t fix anything, and no matter how I tried to access the forums, I couldn’t. And my virus wasn’t in a file that had anything to do with the internet browser. But its working great now, oh and I noticed it to in the evening around the same time as you, not much traffic on then like you said, others probably missed it.

Zend Optimizer is not a virus, it is used to decrypt software which, in this instance, almost certainly is used to add functionality to the forum.

The fact that you saw that message would have been a temporary issue with the forum, not your computer.

D.

o thanks for clearing that up, as ive never heard of it

Zend is used to support the php HTML scripting languages often used on servers. It is one of those little-known-of-by-the-general-end-user community types of products.
