All day at work it kept saying server is too busy?

Now I get home it is fine? I am kind of confused…Maybe it has something to do where I am coming from?

Anyone else having issues?

Worked fine for me whenever I used it today.

I have been noticing that when I click on links sometimes they dont take me to where they should, but back to the home forum page and the forum freezes up alot in the last few days. Its not my puter cause this is the only place I am having this problem and I frequent other forums with no trouble.

I will mention it to Steve. I know Jassy said something about having more members then the forum or server can hold or some technical thing like that so it could have something to do with that.

Edit… Oh I remember she said the forum would be down for a day or so soon cause the server needs to be upgraded

High traffic could do that. Could be driver conflicts, or firewall settings, or antivirus software. There are several reasons that could happen. The server could just be busy from all of the traffic depending on the time of day.

strange thing is if i vpn into work right now i still cannot get to the forums…from work

Sounds like it may just be a filter set up by your work server, though that’s certainly a guess. Remember, pheromones are evil, immoral tools for seduction and ill intentions, so your bosses might not want to let you go down that path on their watch.

I’ve also noticed that recently. I thought it was just my browser though. The forum will freeze, and then IE will freeze after trying to contact the server for a while, and then I have to restart. Only happens on PheroTalk. However, it still might just be my browser.

Try Mozilla Firefox… simpler and wont’ freeze up.

I’m on Safari and this forum has been rock solid and fast at opening links and updating pages. Although I have a fast DSL connection (11 Mbps), AD servers are more responsive than most forum servers. In fact they rip.

Thanks, Diane. I usually do use Firefox, but for a while I was having trouble with my laptop and it seemed like I was reinstalling Windows every couple of weeks. It never seemed to actually be a problem with Windows, though. More like hardware or firmware problems. Anyway, I got tired of getting Firefox exactly how I wanted it, and then having to wipe everything, so I decided I was just going to be very safe and basic with this computer, since I’ll probably get a new, much nicer one either this month or next. I need something dependable and nice to last me through college, and my current equipment just won’t cut it.
