Did We Get a Forum Upgrade???

Woudja look at that. We got a bar under the stickies. Thanks Jas.

Yes - thanks Jasmin and thanks to River for pointing that out - it was a little difficult to sort stickies from threads …

That’s the old quick reply box you’re looking at. Select PheroTalk 2.0 Preview to see the freakishly large one.

Yep. Of course.

Just had to put it back in again. It’s not built into the software.

It’s not buggy, it’s just badly designed.

You could say it’s perfectly great, “bug free” implementation of a poorly thought out design, in fact. Sort of like Windows Vista. It’s not “buggy” as much as it’s design is imperfect. Vista is designed to ask you every 3 seconds if you really meant to move your mouse. Blech!

To better put it into perspective, I was going to require him to go back to graduate school, and start calling himself Stephen.

Maybe we’ll make Steve Osborn into Steve Os…

No wait, that looks like Steve cereal!

Maybe Steve Ozz then…

Still friendly, but avoids confusion with that stupid Jackass guy.

Plus, it’s vaguely reminiscent of Steve Jobs… hmmm!

As long as nobody gets that Ozz confused with Mr Lotus Notes himself: Ozzie, who now runs Microsoft. I’d rather be tied drawn and quartered before being mistaken for Microsoft.

I’ve been Windows free over a year now.

Thank you Jasmin…you’re awesome, as usual!!!

I wondered at first, but I saw your BMW and said “Steve changed his screen name”

an Advanced search with check boxes for products would be nice, but I don’t have time to write it…

I read it as “Steve Big O”

the new skins are neat, but I like the stock one…

That would be nice, but don’t we have too many things to make that practical? 20+ consumer products, and a couple hundred MXs?

The famous Steve from Overstock Pheromones dot com! hahaha

Well, you’re in luck! The stock one from now on will always be available by using --vB Classic Style. Or something name just like that. We may postfix the version # or some other identifier.

The only caveat is that we probably won’t put much effort into modifying the stock template, so some functions may not be available.

I know, as I said ti would be nice, but not required…

Not the Big O I was thinking about but I like your thinking…

Not like I even care to keep up on these things, but what happened to mad dog Ballmer? The guy who screamed “I’m a PC” at the camera?

Thought he took over for Bill Gates some years ago?

I guess Ballmer was sort of an “evil Steve” compared to Steve Jobs. All hype, all sports-fan like like crazy intensity, but no substance where it counted.

Jasmin-

Are we going to get the rep points back in the new forum version? I thought you said we might but not sure …

I personally would like it as I do not see them anywhere except the button to give them.

Thanks for the consideration.

Yep, I just have to figure it out. It’s not built into the forum that way, and there are no obvious answers to this yet.

I think it was a “hack” MHarris did custom, so it’ll take a bit.

I think you are correct, it is a hack or addon module. As they are there in the “Default style” style sheet scheme (see the drop down box in the lower left hand corner)

Yes, the “Default style” is the one Mharris did himself about 2 years ago.

The vB Classic is what vbulletin thinks it should look like.

It looks like they prefer to you to tell your “rep power” instead of your actual rep points. That seems awfully conceited, the way vb likes it. That’s like throwing your title (I’m a nun, damnit!), instead of actually referring to the actual number of good deeds you’ve done.

Some leads, but not a total solution yet.

Other duty calls at the moment. I’ll have to hack away again at getting the reputation points to display instead of rep power in at least a few hours.

I’m good with PT 2.0 (after i adjusted my monitor, brightness down, contrast up). I like the logo. And it loads fast. I’m a sucker for anything that loads fast.

Woofie’s product search might have some value on the consumer side. Think of it as pull down menu. Lists only consumer products. Click on one. Up comes a canned page describing product and effects with appropriate caveats. Followed half a dozen handpicked thread titles about that product. Sort of like stickies. Button at the bottom says search more goes to regular search box. Might help the retail customers.

Boolean operators and brackets will make a difference. Lemme strech it out a little and see what happens. I’ll get back to you on the search thing.

Gotta fly. Mo later.

OoohYahhh

PS Logos cool.
