Hello, ok had a go myself but not sure if correct.
0.5ml P75
add PA to get following
0.5ml = 6.25mcg
1ml = 3.125
1.5ml = 1.56
am i on the right track?
cheers
You’ve got 12.5mcg per unit volume (the volume of a togo spray in this case). You want 2.5mcg.
2.5 is one fifth of 12.5
(i.e. 2.5 * 5 = 12.5)
Therefore, you want five times the volume to get one fifth the concentration.
If you have one ml of P75, you want to increase it to 5 ml. Therefore, you ADD FOUR ml. The easiest way to measure is buy buying pipettes from the store (click here). They are only a buck each.
Alternately, with a pen, carefully mark the level of 12.5 P75 on the side of the togo bottle. Make sure it is accurate. Pour the P75 into suitable container. Using the now empty togo as a measure, fill it up to the mark with perfumers alcohol and add that amount to the P75 – do that four times, so you have five times as much.
If you have more 2.5 mix than will fit back into the togo bottle, be careful how you store it. It will evaporate quickly from jars which do not seal very tightly shut.
Let’s take another example. Suppose you want 1.25mcg. That is one tenth the concentration of the 12.5mcg you have. To get ten times the volume you have, you ADD NINE times as much alcohol.
0.5ml = 6.25mcg CORRECT You now have twice the 12.5 vol
1ml = 3.125 WRONG You now have three times the original vol => 4.167mcg
1.5ml = 1.56 WRONG You now have four times the original vol => 3.125mcg
Thanks Warren, yep i have pipettes and empty togo bottle so will give this a try.
Will probably go with 0.5ml P75 and then add 2ml PA to get the 2.5mcg
