Diluting spray pheromones to reduce mcg per spray: what do I dilute with?

If I wanted to reduce the quantity of mcg per spray how would I dilute the pheromone solution of the spray pheromones? I would imagine some form of alcohol (obviously I’m talking more along the lines of ethanol, not throw in a little vodka)? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, just dilute in the appropriate proportion. Don’t use straight ethanol though, OTOH, Perfurmers Alcohol is ethanol diluted about 40/45% with distilled water.

PA with or without scent can be got here on in tins of litre quantity on Ebay IIRC.

Fantastic, thank you very much! Is there any way you can request a stronger fragrance so that when you dilute it the fragrance is as strong as a normal bottle?

Yes, for Putatives and Experimones, you can choose your fragrance and strength in the list box when you order. Consumer line (except A314) can be changed via the custom order page. MXs can’t be changed though.

Similarly, the PA can be ordered in any scent/strength and for ease would tend to do it that way.

I would not suggest diluting pre made mixes like Ammo or the others in the consumer line.

If your intending to dilute signal molecule putatives or experimones thats fine but when you do this to premade mixes you may throw the ratio off of one or more of the components and end up with an entirely different mix or something ineffective.

You didnt mention what you were trying to dilute so I thought I would mention that just in case. Wouldnt want you to make a costly mistake.

So if I had a purchased a double strength ammo say and wanted to dilute it with exactly (I have access to burettes) perfume alcohol why wouldn’t that work? I only ask because wouldn’t that only affect conc of molecules per solution as the original solvent is alcohol anyway? Also what is the original perfume concentration of ammo in percentage? Thanks.

If you had done that, then yes diluting it 50/50 would probably be an idea to bring its strength down but I wouldn’t go diluting it to any other proportion.

The scent concentration is 10% - described as “light” cologne strength on the store page but that is still pretty potent. Getting you PA in 6% would probably be the most practical option. 20% would probably need a gas mask!
