or maybe you’re finding the wrong girls. Stop dating the ones that don’t meet your standards then. 'cause if those are the girls you’re around, I’d probably feel the same way you do.
I must be dating the wrong women but I find this a rare attitude outside of HS. You gotta hang with women with professional and graduate school backgrounds. The problem with most women I meet is they’re too intellectual and career oriented and men come second and are only good for sex.
Undergrad enrollment and graduation rates are higher among women (54%) and female grad schools stats across the country are are much higher. The next generation of corporate leaders, professionals and politicians will be predominantly female. I’m guessing you’re in the wrong neighborhood as bimbos are an endangered species.
You have highlighted something important, that I was trying to express earlier. There is SO much more to a relationship than looks and money. A couple must be compatible for it to work for more than a couple of months. You have to have common ground.
If you have nothing to talk about, no common interests, share no hobbies or pastimes, do not share a belief system, then what do you have? You have physical attraction, possibly sex, and definitely a feeling of frustration because the relationship is not a relationship. You’re not relating.
The reason looks and money weren’t important to me in my second marriage is because they are not something to relate to. They are not intrinsic to who a person is, they have very little to do with what makes them tick. And looks will always fade with time, no matter who you are. Money can be gained and lost at lightning speed. The qualities that contribute to your personality are singularly yours.
Someone who is a complete bitchy snob will not have her personality improved by the addition of several million dollars, or plastic surgery.
The man who is kind and generous, full of integrity and honor, will not become less of a person just because he lost everything in a house fire.
I said ‘many women’ not ‘most’ or ‘all’. ![]()
According to my personal experience it is not very easy to find an intelligent, secure and mature women under the age of 25. Im still in my 20s and Im not really into older women so Im kinda stuck in the the pool of ‘childish girls’.
You must be at least over 30 and have been through quite a lot in life to gain such wisdom. If only younger women around my age were as wise.
You know people say girls tend to mature faster than boys. I personally think that is a big pile of false crap. Girls wise up slower than boys. Although I have to say that once he hits the age of 40 a man seems to stop maturing and sometimes starts regressing instead while women of the same age begin to overtake them especially after they become mothers.
I’ve taught college since the 80s and mainly deal with people in late teens to mid-20s. Of course the university acts as sort of a filter and we lose the worse of the worse. Nevertheless it is a good cross section of young adult society. I’m sorry, but as far as acceptable classroom behavior, responsibility and academic performance, my male students trail females terribly. While the women aren’t perfect as a group they tend to more mature, responsible, centered and organized. The gap is so wide in terms of verbal skills, classroom behavior and study discipline men and woman appear to different humanoid subspecies! I find it hard to believe this trend is significantly different outside of the classroom.
If I were to grossly simplify and stereotype my typical 19-21 year old male student, I’d describe him as emotionally and developmentally about 14 or 15 years old. It only reinforces such impressions when he arrives to class with a skateboard, stoned stupid, iPod blasing, no text or even a pencil and not a clue what is going on. Sure there are a few exceptions but as group my males are shaming the mighty penis and need to get it together.
I figured the before mentioned has a lot to do with many of these cute young things women dating older men (including professors).
On average it does seem like women are generally more cultured, sophisticated, and socially savvy then men. Of course there are exceptions to be found in both genders.
Where the hell do you live man? I dont see such a thing at my college. ![]()

hawaii i believe, personally i was scratching my head too. jankren, i completetly agree with your posts. here’s the thing guys, when someone concentrates their life on something, they become that thing and others judge them exclusively on it. for example…arnold schwarzennegeer(sp?) is known for his muscles right? well that’s what people judge him for and now that he’s gettin a lil flabby, people are dissing him.
and no i was not contradicting myself in my earlier posts in any way. women have spent so much dam time on their looks that more often than not, that is the only thing they have to offer. it isn’t until later in their lives say past 30 when they lose their looks that they suddenly wake up and realize that holy shit the guys aren’t sticking around because there’s nothing for them to stick around for.
Eh, at my undergrad college I’d say this is somewhat true, but I wouldn’t say the differences in maturity is that extreme. Generally, it just seems that the women are more responsible. They take college more like a job, where for guys it can seem like an extension of HS. Of course, thats not true for every college guy or girl, but that’s a small trend I noticed. When you get into the upper division classes, you generally see mature men and women, but I suppose it also depends on the college. Pomona College vs say CSSD.
Of course guys in upper division courses and the few that actually make to to grad school have got it together. We’re not all slackers. Although I must say it seems like female enrollment in graduate courses is nearly 2:1 over men. I can already see the trend in new faculty hires and admin as increasing female. It used to be the opposite. I sit on many hiring committees and there is a shocking shortage of qualified male applicants. Get your degrees guys otherwise your male children will end up as an underclass of sex slaves working for the boss lady…
I see the same things that Gegogi sees at the college I’m at, including the dating older men.![]()
Women have always been interested in older men since the time of Adam …
The reason for this is that they want a fatherly figure who is willing to put up with their childishness and treat them like a spoiled daddy’s princess.
Yeah same here. Guys at my college aren’t all irresponsible, but a good chunck of them are.
I will agree there are some collected and logical guys out there. One of my good friends and his best friend are two of them. Or at least I thought until I realized one is slowly becoming more and more angry with the world and just plain bitter and the other is taking a break from his gf, prancing around town fucking everything he sees. Two very educated, logical, responsible guys. Testosterone does crazy things to a man. Whether it makes them sex crazed or aggressive.
Not saying estrogen doesn’t do a thing or two to us. ![]()
I really wonder what women you’re talking about and where you live because where I’m from there are a lot of business owners, singers, actors, doctors, cooks who are all women. And on top of that they all have hobbies. Heck, who doesn’t.
Now if you go down to Arkansas then yes your gonna get a lot of girls who are just straight up bums and rely on guys to take care of them while they do the house work.
Now I’m not saying I’m not gonna do the house work. Hell I’d rather do it then have my future husband do it and lose years of his life (true fact), but I’m not gonna just sit around and be a house wife. No, I’m gonna make something of my life. I’m going to get a career and bring in money. That’s what a lot of women are doing these days.
Honestly, show me a women who only cares about her looks. I don’t know who your talking to, but they’re obviously idiots. Either that or your perspective is very narrow. Try to remember there is more than one kind of women out there and that these women who only care about looks (and I mean only looks) are extremely rare…well, unless you count strippers and hookers.
When I’m 30 hopefully I will be married by then, but if not then I’ll win guys over with my smile and happy personality. We still got pheromones don’t we. That should count for something.
In the meantime I don’t have to worry about finding a husband. I have 10 years and guys adore me. Shouldn’t be too hard ![]()
Lol, what?
Aparently it’s been proven that men who do chores like vacuuming and sweeping live less years then those who just work and don’t do any chores.
Watched a special on it. Had to do with the stress it put on men or something like that.
Maybe theres something on it on the net. Idk, I’m too tired to dig something up. Good news for guys tho
Yeah, I avoid housework as much as possible (use a maid service). When my clothing gets dirty I just throw it out and buy a bunch of new ones. I get bored of the same threads quickly anyway.
I have been watching this thread and chuckling a bit but this statement stuck something in me . Its true when you focus on something and believe in it you attract it or as you put it you can become it. Oh course in this case your not going to become a shallow women but your focus and belief is this is how most women are.
Did you ever think you are being exposed to all these shallow women because you have such a strong belief that this is how all women are you may be attracting them to you thus this is all you end up meeting which reinforces that belief. Its already ingrained in you to believe this and the only way to change whats happening in your environment is to change your focus. Change what you believe.
I think this is why you see such diverse experiences here. Each side see’s what they believe. Because what you believe becomes reality. Neither side is wrong.
I think the problem is more that you don’t see the forest for the tree’s. Maybe its not because they are not there but as you stated yourself “it not what you see” If you want to “see” something different change where your looking and how your looking at it.
I don’t disagree there are some women who are like both you and Meow have described but there are a great many others who are not this way. You control what you see and what you attract to yourself. If you don’t like what your attracting don’t expect the world to change. The change comes from you because those women will always exist. You need to learn to really “see” people with your eyes closed before you can truly see them for who they are.
You don’t have to actually change the world or the people in it to find what you seek you just have to change the way you perceive it.
Tisha
i see what you ladies are saying, but you are missing something out in your views..age. happykitsune, you mentioned women being doctors, lawyers, etc. but you are 19, how many 19 year olds can claim those status? i’m gonna go out on a limb here and say zero. also you are confusing profession with personality. just because a women is a doctor does not mean she can keep a 5 minute conversation with a man going. i know this because i did an internship in the operating room where i assisted some of the best female surgeons in town…and guess what, i wouldn’t date any of em, except maybe one prolly cause we got along so well.
tisha, i was wondering when you were gonna jump in to bust my ballz hehe. but yes you are right perception is based on experience. jankren and i are college students…our view of women are daddies little girls burning their credit cards on clothes and iphones. i’ve kind of tiptoed arount this topic, but i don’t think anyone really got it, so i’m gonna just come out and say it. not all women are shallow, just like not all men are immature. but these qualities are learned qualities, not things you are born with. the issue with women(and this maybe just my experience) by the time women get their shit together, they are just too bitter and too used up for me to be interested in them. if it took you 10 boyfriends to figure out that men don’t like going shopping with you, then i have no interest in you.
Keep in mind that it takes more than looks to get into law school or medical school, which I think was her point.
Btw, how many 19 year old MALE doctors are there? Probably a number very similar or very close to the amount of 19 year old female doctors.
Also, just cause a person is a doctor, regardless of sex, it doesn’t mean that person can carry on a conversation period. Med schools are trying to find more and more well rounded people who can not only make a great diagnosis, but is also sociable and able to read their patients and how they’re feeling. There’s a student who has an extremely high GPA and good MCAT score but is a total freak. Anti-social, very beside himself and has poor social skills. He was surprised and actually bitter when he didn’t get into medical school, but everyone who knew him saw it coming. The interview screens for these kinds of things. =/
And for that second thing, I know PLENTY of guys who do the same with their dad’s money. They come from a rich family and they spend money like nothing. They’ll go to Vegas, gamble away 3k in an hour, drop another grand in a club on alcohol and straight up give a friend 500 just because he’s too lazy to turn in the chips at the casino 2 blocks away. They’ve got watches that cost 10-20k, have multiple cars and some even have their own HOUSES and they’re all under 24. Shit like that is just LIFESTYLE. They have parents who have the money and are willing to let their kids spend it. Think if YOU grew up in a life where money was NEVER an issue?
I know of females who have rich parents and its their BROTHER who spends all their parents money while the sister is the one with a job to support herself. And vice versa, I also know of females spending all their dad’s money and the brother is the one with a job supporting himself.
