Do pheros interrupt your cycle?

I have noticed that since I started using pheros my menstrual cycle has been off.

My cycle has always been between 29-32 days, but now I to cycle every 22-23 days. I’m wondering if this is just a period of adjustment or if something has been altered. I have not been able to determine any other reason for the change, no diet changes, no increase in stress, no medications, I’m not menopausal or anything like that. I have had a tubal ligation procedure, but it was almost 16 months ago.

This never happened to me before pheros, but has been that way ever since I began wearing them. I also experience occasional spotting, which is new, too.

Any thoughts are welcome. I know there are a lot of ladies here who have been using pheros a LOT longer than me. Did you have similar experiences? Did it right itself around in time?

To the best of my knowledge pheromones do not mess up your cycle. As you know if you read my posts, I wear a lot of pheromones and I’m a bulldog of a tester. Pheromones have never messed with my cycle. However, if you are also messing around with chemset estrogens, like estradiol or equilin - those can mess with your cycle.

I’d be talking to my doctor If I were you. There may be something else going on. And cycling every three weeks with spotting is really not normal.

Diane

Agreed. It is definitely not normal.

I just saw the doctor yesterday about a kidney infection but neglected to bring up the cycle issue. It just slipped my mind as I’m between periods and extremely busy with moving and other stuff. I wonder if the two could be related? I’m thinking back now and realizing that the two symptoms occurred for about the same duration of time. I have had low-grade kidney pain off and on for a couple of months, although it did not become severe enough to merit attention until this past week.

Anyway, thanks Diane, for your input. I appreciate it.

A quick couple of questions for you…

Has anyone in your family had a pituitary gland tumor, an overactive parathyroid gland (hyperparathyroidism), or adrenal gland tumors?

What about family history of kidney stones, stomach ulcers, or low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)?

If both those questions are yes, I’d ask my doctor for a (MEN1) screen.

If the answer to both of those is no, I’d ask about getting a pituitary hormone test to check that all your levels are normal.

Diane

Sounds like sound advice. The answer is no on both counts. To the best of my knowledge, there is no family history of kidney stones, although I myself have had four bouts with them. Ugly stuff, that.

And so we come back to hormones…

Thanks again, Diane.

Did they check your blood calcium levels? If those are high and that is what is causing your kidney stones, have them check your calcitonin levels as well.
