e-Cigarette revisited. Got one!

yeah i am back to charging the next one…i heard the first few puffs not suppose to inhale or you get primer taste in mouth

Lol, I did puff it, and I thought it tasted like blueberries.

btw after using it for a full day…not that i used it a lot…but i probably took about 30 hits off of it over the course of a day which I guess is equivalent of 4 cigarettes and the batteries lasted entire day..but like i said i am not a heavy smoker

anyway the hits were really nice, lots of vapor..

but i need to find some nice tasting eliquid…one thing i will say the liquid it comes does not taste really good…i mean it doesn’t taste bad…but does not taste great…not like a regualar cigarette

now i understand why they make all these different flavors…

Well, its never going to taste like a “real” cigarette, but I have found that if I have been smoking only the e-cigarette for awhile, and then smoke a regular cig, the regular cig tastes nasty. Unless I’m pretty tipsy, then I don’t care, lol.

The myvaporstore.com menthol is actually pretty good, it doesn’t taste quite like a menthol cigarette, it tastes more like you’re smoking Binaca with a kick to it.

They do sell sample packs on some sites, though I only tried the one from Puresmoker.com, but didn’t really care for some of the flavors. The green apple was pretty good.

You could buy small bottles from myvaporstore.com just to try them.

I bought the mocha at 24 mg strength the low one I got at marlbolo flavor was doing nothing for me..

anyway I was at work smoking outside with all the smokers area and someone saw me and now wants one so i sent her the info…

LOL i am goign to convert everyone over slowly but surely LOL

I don’t think you have to go in the stinky smoker’s areas with that…do you? I just do mine at my desk at work, it doesn’t leave a smell so who’s to know?

no i dont…but i am not in the mood to be questioned right now..at work..maybe in time..it is something i have to ease in..otherwise people will start freaking out that i am smoking at work

and i don’t want to make waves..way too risky.. with the economy

In that case, you better err on the side of caution. I have my own office, so I’m safe.

But its really just the same thing as nicotine gum or lozenges or a patch, just a different format.

I got my liquid from Totally Wicked today and tried a drop on the atomizer. The dropper they send with it makes pretty big drops, so the one drop probably equaled 2 regular cigarettes. The liquid is 24 mg nicotine, tobacco flavored. My “analog” of choice is Marlboro lights, so my plan was to try to cut it with some vegetable glycerin, as I’ve seen people do on the e-cig forum, to make it more economical..

However, just to see how it is in the virgin state, I didn’t cut it for this first trial. Damned near knocked me on my ass. For me, and what I’m used to, it was like smoking a full flavored Camel non-filtered. The vapor was nice and equivalent to a real smoke for the full psychological effect it provides. The throat hit was as expected for the 10 ton smack across the head it gave me in terms of nicotine buzz.

Taste, however… well, based on my research, as SillyKitty says, you’re not going to get an exact replica of a real cigarette, and my guess is that what’s missing is what you get when you actually burn tobacco and rice paper, as opposed to creating a vapor from a liquid compound. It basically tasted like the plain tobacco carts my kit came with. It’s not bad per se, just something to get used to. It does go well with coffee and my Cinco de Mayo Coronas I had last night, and since my smoking is usually accompanied by either coffee or beer, that works out for me. It’s also nice after a good meal (plus that after dinner cuppa), so I’m not experiencing anything lacking vs. a real cigarette.

I plan on trying to find the cheapest source of flavors to sample so I can find a mainstay. I think the added plus off vaping vs. smoking is that the flavored stuff will taste more like it’s intended, since you’re not burning anything. Compare with how some incense smells fantastic… until you burn it.

Denec, I have a feeling I’m going to become an e-cig evangelist as I eventually dump the real smokes for good. No one can say that nicotine is good for you on its own, but getting it like this is soooo much better than smoking. No stale smoke smell, no ashtray breath (and in the case of SK’s menthol of choice, it sounds like it even freshens your breath!). I’d never encourage a complete non-smoker to pick up vaping, but it’s pure genius for those of us wanting a better alternative for everyone involved. So, with that in mind, don’t be afraid to tell ALL the smokers you know! My mother has been smoking for 40 years, and when I told her about these, she sounded very interested. I’ll be making a trip home to visit in June and will let her try mine. If she likes it, I’m going to set her up with a kit of her own and a variety of liquids.

I have a 30ml of mocha lite 24mg coming tomorrow from myvaporstore

since i originally i got from them the marlboro flavor in low strength and while the taste was ok it was way too weak so this time i went super high

i really wanted to get 10ml but 3everyone on the forums said their mocha is super great and they had no 10ml in stock and only $10 more oh well

I also ordered some watermelon from e-smokey not sure when that will be here

that is enough for now hopefully those flavors are good enough

I don’t know how much research you guys have done, but I almost ordered a Screwdriver e-cig today.

It’s supposed to be one of the best ones out there, and is made and sold by a very smart guy in the UK.

It said 99 pounds, for the price. Sorry but my keyboard cannot make the pound sign, and I’m too lazy right now to do character map.

I got to the checkout, and then to Paypal, where it said something like $160, lol. So I did the right thing and immediately closed the page.

I really want to get one of those. And better yet, it works with 901 parts, which are cheap and easily available.

Damn exchange rate, lol

LOL! There’s another guy that makes an e-cig mod he sells for around 75 bucks. Only problem is it looks more like a detonator for an IED than a personal vaporizer. I’ll see if I can dig up a link.

Here’s a pic:

Looks like he’s taking a hiatus from his store for the summer, but he says he’ll be back by August.

I dunno… I’m thinking about 2-3 extra batteries and an eye dropper bottle full of juice should be enough to get you through the day, IMHO. Some of these modded vapor cannons look scary! The Screwdriver looks well made, though. Just a little too much for my needs.

Eeek, that looks scary, lol.

The Screwdriver has fantastic reviews though

I am really happy with the 510 though only been 2 days see if it holds up here are two video reviews that helped convinced me:

JOYE306a vs JOYE510 etc., etc. on Vimeo

one thing i forgot to say..about the 510 these pre filled carts last forever i think they last about 100 inhales no joke..it amazing i read becuase they are much bigger

i just got the mocha juice…wow it tastes awesome and i got it in 24 mcg strength and what a kick I got!!!

i highly recommend it

My DS901 came in today, with both batteries charged out of the box. Gotta say, love at first puff! The draw is totally effortless compared to my RN4081 and the black body with bliue LED looks just as slick in real life as the pictures made it out to be. I also like how it feels in my hand. It’s longer than my RN4081, but it feels about 1/3 lighter. It’s also nice and balanced, which contrasts to the other’s battery heaviness. Oh and an added cool touch, the batteries, atomizer, and 5 carts came in a flip-top box the size of a pack of regular sized cigarettes. Would have been nice if it was plastic or metal for durability, but I won’t let that take away from the amusement factor for when I whip out the box in front of my smoking buddies.

Congratulations, and welcome to 901-land!

I’m not sure how your old one worked, but I’ve figured out some things about the 901 that will make using it cheaper and better.

First, though, if it did come with a charge, I really hope that they did the initial 12 to 14 hour charge thats recommended. If not, or if you’re not sure if they did, do it anyway. If its not too late, and you already put it on a short 2 to 3 hour charge.

Also, I found that the atomizers can get a little gunky from the e-liquid, and start to not draw as well. To avoid this (and also prolong your vaporizer’s life), at night before you go to sleep, at the very least, blow out the residue (blow from the side that connects to the battery) then put it standing up on a paper towel with the side connecting to the battery, up.

Better yet, rinse it under the hottest water you can stand, from the faucet, turning it around so it gets a good rinse-out. Then blow out the water, the same way, as best you can, and set it on a paper towel, the same way, to dry over night. The next morning, if its still a little damp, don’t worry, after a few good draws, it will work again, good as new.

Also, don’t throw away your empty cartridges. Just the blank ones, not pre-filled, cost around 65 cents apiece (and that doesn’t include shipping).

Pull the white polyester thing from the cartridge and rinse them both very well under the hottest water you can stand. Blot with a paper towel and let them dry. Reassemble, add your own e-liquid, and you’re good to go.

If your white polyester fluff starts to get a bit tired, go to a craft store (or even Walmart) and get some 100% polyester batting. Make sure it has not been treated with flame retardent. Cut a tiny piece the size and shape to fit your cartridge. You may have to play around a few times with it to get the right density that works for you, but its better than paying 65 cents apiece for new ones every time. Plus you’re also being environmentally responsible

Thanks, SK! That advice is universal for the most part. I’ve been rinsing out my atomizer for my old one every night as you instructed. Also, I’ve been holding on to all my carts, and rinsing like you say. I’ve been considering getting one of those bags of poly batting to refurb my carts, as I’ve seen on the e-cig forum.

Regarding my batteries, the company I bought it from claims to precharge them for 12 hours for convenience, but I’m going to err on the side of caution. I vaped about roughly one cigarette’s worth just to try it out, and immediately put the first battery into the charger.

Even though I’m a step ahead of you there with the tips, I do appreciate your thoughtfulness in passing it along. Perhaps it’ll also help anyone else who’s silently gotten in on the world of e-cigs from reading this thread.

Now I can’t wait for the weekend. I’m finally going to get my timid ass out to this casino I used to go to that has a nightclub for some good phero use. Like I mentioned to denec earlier in the thread, e-cigs make great conversation starters, and I plan on peacocking my ass off with my 901.

LOL, have fun and I hope you win lots of money and women  You can even send me some. Money that is, not women.

Oooh, and guess what I just did, just a minute ago, for the first time with my new “usb passthrough”?

I “dripped”, lol.

I had read a little about that too, but didn’t really understand what it was. And when you explained it to me, I thought, “Hmmm, weird” and didn’t feel tempted to try it. But tonight I decided to give it a try, and all I can say is, wow, not bad at all.
