one thing i am finding overall that I do not like about my 510 Yeti e-cig
no matter how much I try to fill up my cart I only can get about 30 puffs before it gets empty
which comes to about 3 cigs..which is not bad since it came with 5 cartridges..so I guess if I fill up 5 cartridges I have about 15 cigs with me…I just wish it would last longer…
for example this past week i had to go to a conference and drive an hour each way i was vaping more then i should have and my cart did not last that long
all in all I am still happy..
the nice thing is i was able to vape with all the windows closed and my car did not smell like smoke at all in fact i rented a car and when i brought it back they had no idea i was smoking in it..LOL
Denec, this might be of interest to you. I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t really like the RY4. One or two hits is okay, but IMO, it just doesn’t do well as an all day vape. The main reason, for me, is that it’s too sweet. I like a subtle sweetness that enhances flavor rather than overpowers it, and RY4 just comes off as too candy-like for me. At first, I liked it because itwas the first non-tobacco flavor I’ve tried, but the novelty soon wore off.
Instead, I’m really developing a taste for a flavor I purchased from the same place (Midwest Vapor) at the same time, called 555/State Express. It’s a tobacco variant that has a rich, nutty flavor with just a hint of sweetness that rounds it off nicely and enhances the flavor. It’s also smoother to me, with the full 36 mg strength giving me a strong but smooth throat hit. I’ll probably cut it and try it out, but the flavor is so good that I’m hesitant about diluting it. Since it doesn’t burn my throat, I may keep it pure and just take about 5-7 hits from it over the course of a half an hour and call it good.
One of the best pieces of advice I’ve read on the e-cig forum is to find the smallest amount available of new flavors to make sure you like it before investing more money, and with that in mind, I’d recommend you get a small 5-10 ml (or whatever the smallest you can find is) of 555 and give it a try if you’re looking for a good, regular tobacco flavor.
You may like sweetness in your vape more than I do, so your mileage will of course vary.
Actually, 555 is one of the ones I’m sending to Denec, from my leftover Puresmoker.com sample pack. So, Denec, don’t buy it just yet. My myvaporstore.com stuff just came in, so I was going to send your goodies out this weekend or Monday. Plus hopefully my little bottles will be here by then
Someone was asking about menthol flavors over at the e-cig forum, and I posted the following in reply. I figured you guys might find it useful, too.
I just got some Cool Rush from LiquidExpress and it’s really nice. I wasn’t much of a menthol analogue smoker as my personal view of the experience seemed paradoxical. Hot smoke, cool feeling, crap aftertaste. Purely subjective, of course, but that was me.
Cool Rush, however is really smooth, and to me, it seems like it’s all mint. I don’t know if there’s any tobacco flavoring in it, but I really don’t care at this point. I suck in a mouthful of pure coolness, inhale it with a throat hit, exhale it with the same coolness in my mouth, and the aftertaste is like 10 minutes after a spray of Binaca. Wait, “smoking” an e-cig can freshen your breath!?!? Now there’s a paradox I can live with!
Give it a try. LE sells it in a 3 ml bottle so you can decide whether or not you like it without a major cash outlay.

PS (addendum for this post here at Pherotalk) I also got the Artisan liquid at 18 mg, and I can’t taste anything. It’s supposed to be a cappuccino flavor Granted, I’m using an atomizer in which I’ve been dripping 555 and Totally Wicked tobacco flavor all day. I’ll clean it out real good and give it a fresh shot in the morning and will post if my impressions are different.

I’ll make you a bottle of my vegetable glycerin-non-drymouth tweaked menthol, too. For other flavorings I have cherry, blueberry, root beer, butterscotch, chocolate. If you want to try any of those, let me know.
Unfortunately, it’s not much of a recipe, as I didn’t mix it all scientifically-like, but I’ll try to give the best approximate. I used a 3 ml squeeze dropper bottle from US Plastics.
I started by filling the bottle 1/3 each of unflavored 36 mg liquid and vegetable glycerin, for a total liquid volume of 2/3 of the bottle. This is going to serve as the base for all my experiments, as it gives appx 18 mg of nicotine, which is rougly “full flavor” strength. In actuality, it’s probably closer to 16 mg, as the flavoring dilutes as well, obviously.
First go 'round: Peach Cobbler.
Here’s where it gets confusing, so read carefully. LOL! When mixing the above base, take note of what 1/3 of the bottle of liquid looks like. Now divide that roughly by four. In other words, 1/4th of 1/3 of the bottle. Add roughly that amount of Lorann’s Peach flavor. Now add 1/2 of that amount (1/2 of 1/4th of 1/3. <head explodes>) of Lorann’s Bavarian Cream. Install the dropper insert and cap it tightly. Hold the bottle under hot tap water for a few seconds to warm and thin the contents. This helps to mix it better when you subsequently shake it vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds.
To me, it produces a VERY close approximation of my mother’s peach cobbler. It gives a nice throat hit while going down very smoothly. I’ve been testing this for the last half hour by direct dripping, and I’m already convinced this is going to be a staple for me. I think I mentioned once before that my mom was very interested in the e-cig by my gushing over it, and when I go home to visit in the next month or so, I’ll definitely be bringing along some of this.

EDIT/FOLLOWUP: On a lark, I dripped 2 drops of Peach Cobbler to 1 drop of LiquidExpress Cool Rush (a nice menthol flavor), and it’s really nice! I’ve never mixed anything minty with real peach cobbler, but as a vape, it really gives it an interesting accent. Think of the coolness of the menthol subbing for the coolness of vanilla ice cream topping a fresh hot bowl of cobbler.
That sounds like a great recipe! Though I have been ordering so much of this and that (a little e-liquid here, a few fragrance samples there, more damn pheros, lol) and I’m like, geez, where’s all my money going?

I made up some root beer, with 50% 36mg unflavored, and 50% vegetable glycerin, but I think I might have put too much flavoring. It wasnt too terrible though, and at one point I added a drop of the nice menthol e-juice, and it really went well together, minty root beer, who would’ve thought!
Maybe what I’ll do is add a third more of just plain PG/VG, which will cut the nicotene and the flavoring a bit more.
Oh, and denec, did you still want the 555? And have you tried yours yet? Otherwise I’ll give it to this guy at work (lol, now I’ve gotten 2 people at work into e-cigs). But you have first dibs.
I am still unsure of it…I like it..but nothing special…I think I like RY4 better
but today I got my Vanilla Vice and Red Bull today from Vapornine…and let me tell you if you like Red Bull the drink it tastes exactly like it to the tea..
I love red bull since I always drink jagerbombs at the bar and in general…
So I think my favorites are going to be Ry4 and redbull and alternate…and then throw in vanilla vice
SK, I tried the Peach Cobbler today after not using it since last night, and something seems off. I cleaned out my atomizer throroughly and heat dried it in a low oven (yet another tip from the e-cig forum), just to make sure I didn’t get a gnarly combo of 555 and/or TW with the cobbler flavor. Nope. Still seems off. I’m going to tweak it a little more and see if I can shave off the rough edges. Also, since I’ve only got a 15 ml bottle of unflavored (which is about about 2/3s full now), I’ll only be able to spare a couple ml’s of the final mix. It’ll be enough for a few drip sessions or 2 or 3 cart refills, though. I’ll keep you posted.
EDIT: Oh, and it’s funny how the tastebuds get finicky sometimes. I’m back to liking RY4 again. LOL Actually, 2 drops of it and 1 drop of 555 in the atty tones down the sickliness of the sweetness, which was the biggest problem I had with it.
well after sometime with my e-cig i started to get extremely frustrated
don’t get me wrong the 510 puts out awesome vapor, and has great throat hit and feels like a real cigarette
but the battery life totally sucks…and the cartridge totally sucks ass…i get if at most 25-30 puffs it is ridiculous…
what the 510 is great at is dripping…since it is a closed and sealed battery…problem is i cannot do that at work and don’t feel like bringing all my juices and spare batteries with me it just way too much work…it becoming way too much of a hassle…and i ended up just smoking regular cigarettes which is something i did not want to do
anyway after so much research and time…trying to figure out what i wanted to try next i kept going back forth between a DSE801, a nebula, i fially decided on a VX2 which has been getting great reviews and is supposedly the upgraded DSE901 i just ordered it from LITECIG so when I get it next week wish me luck
This is the last one I am trying if it dont work out i am done with e-cigs, the maintenance is starting to become a real pita, and i will go back to smoking my camel turkish gold and hope i can keep it a few
Yeah, it can be a real bugger trying to set yourself up for an entire day without bringing a portable lab along everywhere you go. My solution is prefilling carts. I’m not sure how blank 510 carts come, but 901 carts have a cap on the end that fits nice and snug. Prefill about 5 carts in the morning or the night before and you’re good to go. An Altoids tin is perfect for carrying them, though it might impart some residual mint. Hey, if you like menthol, why not? But if you want to avoid that, heck, an empty cigarette box will do the trick. It’d hold extra batteries, too.
Unfortunately, vaping takes a little more effort than cigarettes. I don’t mind it personally, but I’m afraid my mother might not be too keen on it. She’s sounded very interested based on our talks on the phone, and I’d like to set her up with one, but I’m afraid she’d get tired of the maintenence involved.
On another note, I just got my USB passthrough in, and it’s nice! Only downside is my front USB ports are messed up and the cord isn’t very long, so I have to lean forward to take a drag. I also got a 15 ml bottle of Coke flavored liquid at 18 mg. It’s… interesting. Smells just like flat Coke and the vape taste is … well, Coke-like. It’s not bad, has a good throat hit, and is nice and smooth. I think I’ll use it exclusively for a couple of days to really get a feel for it. And the best part? I can tell people I’m freebasing Coke! Er… sorta.
i think that is the only complaint about the new VX2 no caps on the end of the carts, supposedly they are working on that, but from what i hear the carts are large enough to get about 100 puffs
supposedly last for entire day, we will see, if i can get at least 80 puffs that is way more then I need…
nice thing is the cartridges are way cheap $3 for 5, while the cartridges for 510 were expensive 5 for $10 and I was trying to find all sorts of ways to replace that poly filling, but nothing was working right…i tried teabags, and papertowels and while some of it worked temporary nothing was perfect
i think 510 are great for dripping…and taste awesome that way..but for cartridges no way
in fact with the new VX2 you cannot drip it has an open battery
so we will see…i was running out of choices of models to try…it seems there is no perfect model everyone has its pros and cons but i do know the batteries on these are really good…so i will be happy with that if i can get it to where i only need one cartridge a day i will be super happy!

i am sure there are a lot more out there but those are enough and enjoy all of them…and i got them mostly in 11/16/18mg
my two favorite right now are watermelon and red bull from vapornine and those are both in 16mg i think
To make it easier, I’ve made a kit of sorts that I bring with me to work or anywhere I’ll be for any extended time.
Oh, and Denec. for filter material, go to Walmart or a craft store and buy 100% polyester batting. Make sure it has not been treated with flame retardant. Cut it into tiny pieces, and its perfect. One bag of polyester batting or filling should last your entire life. The filling does work if you can’t find batting, but its a little stringy, but still works way better than paper towels, etc.
For my little kit, I use an eyeglass case, the kind that snaps closed, kind of like a clamshell or something.
In it, I have a couple batteries, a few fresh empty cartridge shells, an extra atomizer, a few pre-cut pieces of polyester for the filling, and a couple of small bottles of e-liquid. The only thing that doesn’t fit in there is the charger. You can bring your charger to work (I have an extra one that I just leave at work) so if one battery dies, you can just switch them out, thus always having a fresh one.
They also have little cases that are specifically made for e-cigs, different ones for different models. Many places that sell the kinds of e-cigs you have, also sell cases that are perfect with that model.
Once you get a system going, its pretty easy to maintain.
Ooh, and I made up some chocolate and then added a couple drops of butterscotch, and it came out pretty yummy!!
I did not mind refilling the 510 but i found i was refilling it too much it was too much of a hassle…
If i only have to refill once a day that is ok by me, but i was refilling way too much with 510, but if this model works out i think i will try going to walmart and do that polyester bag..
The kit I bought has a usb charger also and a wall charger, and a carrying case

My trouble is that I never refill it properly. Because it tastes so good with a fresh drop or two and also makes great vapor, I find myself adding a fresh drop or two a few times throughout the day.
