I’m currently researching how externally administered Oxytocin might add to our natural inclinations towards Empathy and wonder if you might be able to help by pointing me to research findings or in any other way?
Welcome to the forums. I’m curious as to what direction you would like to take your research.Oxytocin is a dangerously poweful chemical! We’ve all dealt with a girl or guy who has experienced their first heavy dose of natural love hormones, they tend to stick to us like glue.
What kind of research have you already done?
Also, are you here to learn more about pairing it with pheromones from this site? If so what kind of effects would you be looking to pair it with.
Oxytocin doesn’t act pheromonally because it doesn’t utilize the same pathways as a pheromone.
Its also to heavy and large to act as a pheromone and has a short life span outside of the body unless kept in a controlled environment. For these reason its ineffective as a pheromone used in commercial products.
There really is no scientific evidence to support oxytocin as a pheromone. There is evidence that through absorption and the proper pathways in the body it can have an affect on social and psychological behavior though. It has to be administered nasally. A pheromone acts airborne from one individual to another without physical contact. Oxytocin just doesn’t work that way. You need contact.
A good person to contact who can give you a more clear and concise scientific review is JVKohl. He is an researcher and expert on pheromones and a member here. I am sure he can help you out.
Since your here do you have any questions about pheromones ? If you tell us a bit about yourself and your personality you will qualify for a $25 GC to the smartmones store and you can try some things out. It could be interesting and fun for your research.
