Explain A1 - it's effects

Hi everybody. Can somebody explain Androstadienone? I will probably be ordering my first batch of pheromones next week. So I thought I’d ease myself in by trying Dial Magnetic. It says it has Androstadienone though I was thinking it probably doesn’t have very much. Well, a few hours after showering I started feeling rather low, and very sensitive. I just wanted to lie down and go away. I was border line in tears. I’m sort of in a recovery period of a mild depression, but I have been doing very well, until last night. Do you think this was coincidence? or would the Androstadienone be a factor here?

This one has been done a lot PhenS - Try searching out K-Train’s excellent A1 Guide and the A1 mix thread in this forum. They won’t be far off the top.

All the answers you need are in there.

Here we go:

There are also quite a few threads about Dial Magnetic and The Gent’s journal may also be pretty useful.

I would advise being especially careful with A1 if you have the slightest hint of a depressive reaction - And yes, Dial might have been to blame. I get it to a lesser extent and it took me a couple of weeks to build-up a tolerance before I took it out in anger. There is also discussion on some very viable alternative phero combinations that don’t have this problem, so it would be worth looking at them too.

Thanks. I have gone through those threads and they did answer a lot. There were only a few mentions of the depressive self effects though. So I guess it’s not that common? Since it was my first time ever using anything with pheromones, could the effect be amplified a bit?

Actually, I am reading K-Train’s https://pheromonetalk.com/t/androstadienone-guide/37668 thread and it seems to be very helpful. I missed that one, I guess, when I was searching. Thanks again !

I apologize for asking an oft asked question…I hate being that guy!

It could be, also if you have a history of depression, the reaction may act as a trigger? Its not that common but a significant minority of men report this, can’t remember the percentage offhand.

TBH, if this is your first foray into pheros, there are some far better ones to start off with. A1 is a good and interesting phero but not the easiest to work with straight-off.

That was one of the stated reasons that AD stopped selling IFM, an Androstadienone based product.

If you’re recovering from mild depression, then I would stay away from it. I’ve been through that, and not caused by A1, but I know relapsing is a pain. Like mobo said, there are PLENTY of other mones in here that work well. I’ve never used A1 so I can’t compare but you should look into Instant Shine and Instant Honesty.

Yeah, I definitely don’t plan on using A1 off the bat (I’m planning on the ones you mentioned). I guess it’s a bit of a wake up call, though, to “respect the power of the 'mones” if only using a little from a body wash have an effect.

Yup P51, the IH/P74 combo is a good alternative. OP should read-up on that.

Some folk also use IS as a means of offsetting the A1 downers - It works for a while but personally I don’t find this great as you can end-up needing to top-up the IS regularly and still be hit by an even worse downer when you are least prepared when the IS crash hits after a few hours. :frowning:

I’ve made the mistake of using too much A1 at a speed dating event my post HERE

I had to really focus and just push threw it and I made it, but it just was noooo fun.

PS i have no issues with clinical depression of any kind. The A1 thing hit me so fast it HAD to be A1.

Bust a lower levels 25mcg and below…things were all good. I even gave a secret to-go to my brother once. He wore it at church. Said…Hey dude that sutff you gave me is bad…I said Bad? …He said yes, I don’t need women at my church that i work with , flirting with me…lolololol…score 1 for A1

So yesterday afternoon was when I washed with the Dial Magnetic (I used quite a bit too). I didn’t shower before bed and still woke up feeling crappy and low. I just got out of the shower and within ten minutes I’m feeling much better. Wow.

Yup, it is important to wash when you are done with the A1. Another reason is that its breakdown byproducts stink and you can wake-up smelling like an old sock or tramp’s pants!

Another way of dealing with the dose is to make an oil mix - details in here if you search. You can get all the ingredients and tools here in the supplies section, scented or add your own. That way, you can manage a higher dose with much less of the self effects. Pretty economic too.

As someone has mentioned, you can build up a tolerance to it. In hindsight looking over my reports I know there were a few days when I was wearing A1 that I wasn’t depressed in that stereotypical fashion, but I was a bit more “emotional.” Maybe a bit more needy, clingy etc. But after using it, and understanding what I’m prone to doing when using it, I now have a tolerance, or at least I can avoid the same pitfalls.

If you’re going to use it, I suggest using out to build up the tolerance and not at home. That may sound counter intuitive, but you’re going to need a distraction. Because if you’re just chillin’ at home with your thoughts that can get a bit intensive and head off into a more severe depression than if you were out partying with your friends and focusing on the attention the ladies are giving you.

But I would side with mobocaster here and suggest you use something totally different for now. The reasons are that you’re already clinically depressed, and it is a more difficult product to work with.

Maybe once you work past your current issues and gain some experience with other more “commercial” type products like the consumer line, then go in for the big guns.

A1 might not ever be an option for you. There is a strong body of evidence that indicates depression is an additive event. In english, a person becomes more vulnerable to depression with each depression event, so each time you get clinically depressed, you are more likely to get depressed in the future and are more likely to suffer a deeper depression when you do. It appears that it has to do with a weaking of the brain neurons located behind the left eye (left orbital cortex) which are the ones promoting happiness.

I use Dial Magnetic Magnetic and have a history of unipolar depression (just plain old depression) but it doesn’t cause the blues in me but what can do is decrease my sex drive. I guess it keeps me out of trouble. I mainly use it to keep several ladies I deal with calm, which it definetly does.

If you do try the Dial again, you might want to limit it to just your arms and maybe the back of your neck. Avoid your face, chest, and most of your neck. This should help to reduce your exposure while building up a tolerance to A1.

Still, it sounds like your reaction was at least somewhat strong so I seriously doubt it’s a good idea to use A1 at all.

Thanks for your input spu. I think I’ll try the limited application you’re talking about. I really slathered it on the first time (all over face, arms, legs, etc). I think that was definitely overkill. Hopefully I’ll do better with much less. Otherwise, I’ll have to find someone to give the Dial to  I’ll probably also take thegentleman’s advise and do it when I won’t be home. (Which is a little tricky because I work from home)
I was amazed yesterday evening how ‘light’ I felt after washing the stuff off.
btw, I was never diagnosed with any form of depression…was just coming out of a low period. It could have been; just no doctor ever told me so.
