FDA finally nukes Triclosan!

This may of course have wider application as there are certainly overall health implications but it also has a direct effect our phero use, so I think it can be safely posted here instead of lounge - but feel free to move if you want.

So, in the US, the FDA have just banned the use of Triclosan and the related compound Triclocarbon because no evedience has been produced to show they are either safe or effective

FDA issues final rule on safety and effectiveness of antibacterial soaps

FDA bans antibacterial soaps;

Sadly hand sanitisers and wipes are undergoing a separate review so they are not FTM affected by the ban but hopefully sense will prevail in the long term.

I hope this means that soon, people coming new to pheros will have a lot more success with them because their daily care does not consist of a range of products laced with rampant phero killers! :slight_smile:

Hooray :slight_smile:! Let’s hope other countries follow.

Honestly, I haven’t been using anything other than apple cider vinegar + hot water to clean myself with for years now. There are so many hormonal disruptors added to personal care products these days you’d almost think it is as if there’s a concerted effort to reduce our ability to reproduce to the maximum…

Given the size/importance of the US market and that many product lines are formulated to be compliant with its regs, I would hope the knock-on effects will benefit many other countries as well. :slight_smile:

I hope they take care of evil Sodium Laureth Sulfate next!
