FedUp with FedEx

What’s your craziest FedEx or UPS or shipping company experience?

Two things, the first being the crazier (or is it?):

I have never had a problem with UPS shipping my packet to France to get to the next state over, but I have had a status exception saying that my package was in a TRAIN DERAILMENT. Now, I’m not one to spit my drink on my screen, but I nearly choked on my pepsi when I read that. (especially considering the package was worth over 2000 dollars…) Whats really nuts is that this isn’t an isolated incident. Search google for UPS train derailment and there are lots of these. This isn’t my photo, but you get the idea.

Fedex likes to piss me off at least once a year by rerouting my packages all over the country. I wish I still had the screenshot, but oh well. One time, several years back, I remember waiting for a package containing a new hard drive for my computer. It was shipped from Newegg in California and I live in Oregon. Imagine my surprise when I see that my package has been to FRANCE and will take another 3 days to finally reach the other side of the world where my house is. This is similar but my package only went through France once.

(in case anyone is interested, this thread was spawned out of my shipment of mones being a day late already and there being no details at all, just says estimated delivery June 21 with no details)

Oh FedEx. Don’t you love 'em? My experience hasn’t been nearly as fun as yours has been, but I’ve noticed that they don’t seem to be able to follow directions very well. I have all my orders held at the closest FedEx location for pickup because I’ve had things stolen off my doorstep in the past.

For my very first order of about $150, the FedEx guy called me at about 10 am saying something to the effect of “I see there’s a note on here saying that this package should be held at the FedEx office, but I’m just going to go ahead and drop it off on your doorstep anyways. Have a great day!”. Needless to say, getting home to an empty doorstep was not the highlight of my afternoon. Fortunately for me, AD has the best customer service in the world and they replaced the order even though it wasn’t even remotely their fault!

:open_mouth: ohnoes!!!

I just find it amusing that they actually say train derailment on your tracking…
