Five-year-old bottles of TAC, IO, IS, Ammo and TUTH: toss them or still usable?

I have some bottles (some are to-go) of TAC, Instant Openness, Instant Shine, Ammo, and Turn Up the Heat. They’re about 5 years old. Should I throw them out and re-order or can I use them again?

Thanks.

P.S. They’ve been stored in a dark space in my cabinet all this time—but may have been exposed to humidity/heat/and etc.

Why not just test them and see..? If you’re going to throw them out anyways..

I guess I could, but I’d rather not go through that all whole process if I don’t have to.

Its exposure to light that does for pheros in bottles most, so if they have had dark storage you should be fine. Some may have yellowed slightly but that’s no barrier to using them

Temp is not a significant issue as it needs to get very hot indeed to wreck pheros - The scent/solvent components would have suffered first as they will evaporate/break down at lower temperatures.

Pheromones are not in the scent? Or do you mean the scent compounds are broken first before pheros?

No, the scent carries the pheros off your skin - and yes, these do break down first.

I have asked this question before, so I do know the answer to this.

No, they don’t go bad. The chemical structure of the pheromones stays the same. The fragrance may have broken down a bit, so just smell it and see if you still like it. The main concern with keeping phero products around for a long time is evaporation of the alcohol. If you notice that your bottles have less liquid than they did before, some of the alcohol may have evaporated. This just means that the pheromones will be less diluted, and will be more concentrated. You can still use them just fine, but the effects may be stronger. You might want to use a little bit less than you normally would.

This is why I keep my pheromones in the fridge: to reduce evaporation.

Thanks, it’s why I also keep mine in the veg. compartment of the fridg too.

what about oil based mones? can they last up to 5 years?

Easily - Provided they are properly stored and kept free from contamination - ie dropping, not dabbing/rolling. I’ve got bottles older than that that are still in perfect condition - notably some older Revs of A314. Roll-ons however, they are gassed in around eighteen months, even if only a small amount has been used.

just keep them in your veg drawer…it’s a statc. temp & humid.

Why would roll ons be gassed in 18 mos, by that you meen the mones have escaped somehow. I do have some roll ons and my biggest complaint is that they all come in a clear bottle.

Some AV I have had for 4 years now works great and it seems ever stronger, strange. Perhaps the lighter socials degrade faster.

My bathroom has the mones out in the open and they have been getting very low daylight from a small window.

Keeping them in your car on hot summer days I wouldn’t recommend.

No. Bacteria off your skin gets carried back into the oil via the roller on each application - after a while, it builds to a level where it promotes breakdown in the oil. Changes in smell, clumps of debris form and eventually the effectiveness falls-off/changes due to the individual component balance changing. So yes, that could account for some products having more punch - but it won’t be quite the same as the product you started with.

AV has lasted about the best of the roll-ons I’ve tried but PA, Nude and SOE all became unusable much faster. If I get any of those again, it will be with a dropper only. Or I’d concentrate on using a smaller number of products so I’d get through them quicker.

All were stored in the dark in alongside my AD mones, which have remained fully usable throughout, although one or two MXs have suffered slight discolouration but with no change in effectiveness.

Never used PA or SOE but I do agree that rollers can roll skin cells and bacteria back inside the bottle.

Don’t think that the bacteria can thrive in oil but better to take precaution. I have a ton of old A314 euro droppers witch will suit them unique mixes.

Don’t use those mixes a lot but I have bought them and have them for years so best to preserve them.

Have a full bottle of A314 rev 29 where I use a few drops per month for special occaisions.

I’ll tell you how it’s working 10 years from now.
