I read about a fragrance fixative called Glucam P-20. It’s designed to be an odorless fragrance fixative. It might be interesting to Androtics to use to formulate pheromones with less scent or longer duration of effects:

I’m going to order some to try out in my own perfumery and maybe even with pheromones. Suppossedly it will blend with alcohol/water and also with lower hydrocarbon oils.
Hmm interesting.
Right now they use DPG dipropylene glycol because it is non toxic stable and can be used with alcohol water or oils.
Its also inexpensive and easy to get.
I imagine, switching right now would mean reformulating alot of the mixes. Alot of work for April. I know that the scent ratio is important to maintain because it has more then one purpose in a mone product. Neroli acts as a fixative , It covers the scent of mones without being over bearing. Its a light molecule, Its highly diffusive, It leaves a effective trail or cloud of mone product. They have given the option for unscented on most products and even in some cases lightly scented but I am not sure they would be willing to compromise on the amount of neroli they use in the standard consumer products. Its has to many functions.
It is interesting though and worth looking into. I may pick up some for my next batch of aromatherapy and scent products.

My guess is in larger quantities Glucam P-20 would make a spray product act more “oil-like” unless the pheromone concentrations were altered. I’ve had decent results with pheromone oils like Scent of Eros which is only really scented with a light musk (very sticky molecule) and has very little odor, and not really any light fragrance molecules. Fluid physics isn’t one of my specialties, though, so I’m no expert.
I used Perception, which is gel based but it has a similar effect, it basicly works like an oil but seems to diffuse a little faster. Honestly I’m not as big a fan of this gel as it doesn’t really seem to work better than an oil. Maybe it’s good for being able to instantly wash off androstenone easily, though. (BTW I started out on this stuff and it does produce reactions though it has too much androstenone for me).
I got the P-20 today and I’ll be testing it out with pheromones. I noted this in my journal and in the Theory section: Glucam P-20 fragrance fixative
