I come from a tradition of a first name and a surname. Middle names aren’t a thing - I got one because the mother decided she liked that Anglo tradition. So, an invitation list for the middle is not of interest to me; feel free to appease whomever you need to. Your mom is not gonna like the fact I don’t have any family; don’t care what anyone’s opinion is (unfortunately this is especially aimed at ‘family’) and am not concerned with ‘building a strong family unit’.
Moms like me - as long as they don’t think I’m in any way something they’re gonna have to see on a regular basis.
lol you may be surprised by my mom. She raised me as a single mother and I became the Tazmanian Devil by the time I hit 15 so she had her hands full with no help…she’s pretty independent and respects that in others.
So much so that when I was younger she said to me “One day you may find a girl that I don’t like, and guess what…I don’t have to like her, YOU do.”
My family is very Catholic and mom follows the belief that when a couple gets married they both let go of their parents…she actually expects me as a man to hold my future wife above even her as a priority.
Not the typical mother in law attitude one expects from tv and movie cliche’s
No, definitely not. She actually sounds awesome. Except for the religion part. I’m not a christian, will not make even the slightest concession on that. So, maybe she’ll be ok with the me bit, probably not with the faith bit. And no, no religion for the kid. They get to choose when they have a brain to choose well. Let’s hope it thinks like you, then.
