It’s 9/11 and I wanted to thank each and every one of us for our uniqueness as individuals and caring as a community.
We all interact daily regardless of politics, religion, race, creed, whatnot and never have I been a part of a forum that cares so much for each other.
Your Welcome SteveO Same here, it has been a pleasure to interact with everyone from different background here on the forum And yes let’s remember the day 9/11.
Thank you SteveO, this is a unique and wonderful place with many unique and wonderful people. Its great that we can come together here not as people from all over the world but as humans and just share a bit of our lives with each other I am happy and honored to be a part of this group.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves:
‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the World.
There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people around you wont feel insecure.
We are all meant to shine as children do.
We are born to manifest the glory of God that is in everyone.
And as we let our light shine, we unconciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically releases others.
Same with me too. I used to tell my friends about a great 12th century Turkish Sufi, Yunus Emry…he wrote:
Mystic is what they call me.
Hate is my only enemy;
I harbor a grudge against none.
To me the whole wide world is one
We regard no one’s religion as contrary to ours,
True love is born when all faiths are united as a whole.
Come here, let’s make peace,
let’s not be strangers to one another.
We have saddled the horse
and trained it, glory be to God!
Yunus Emre’s humanism is not only a humanism of “peace and brotherhood” but also calls for social justice, charity and many other familiar ideals of today’s world…only if we all could truly understand.
