As a former scientist/physician I’m very interested in the scientific side of pheromones. As a human being, I don’t need to be convinced that the right mix works wonders. I tried Jovan Andron when I was young, and had a lot of crazy hits – unbelievable stories. It was apparently a good fit for me.
My ex (way out of my league in physical attractiveness) responded especially strongly. After knowing each other for decades (eliminating a lot of the unknowns of “hit reports” with strangers), there was NO mistaking her dramatic response to an old container of the Andron body powder hidden in the back of my closet. I undoubtedly owe two of our kids to it!
I’m glad she lives 1000 miles away now. We’re friends, but I definitely don’t want her trying to get back together! We agree we’re better off apart, but I know that when she gets in that mood, she won’t take no for an answer!
What are you hoping to achieve via pheromones at this point in your life? Tell us a bit more about you too and if you’ve any questions ask away (these things will help you qualify for AD’s 25 gift certificate).
My interest is mostly in experimenting and observing. No one who has had the experiences I’ve had could help but find this subject intriguing. I’m a little surprised that I never got around to experimenting seriously with this until now. I’ve often thought I should, but I guess I always had too many other interests and experiments in progress to devote serious effort to it – this area, more than most demands clear observation/notes to extract any clarity from all the subjective factors and changing formulations.
If you’re familiar with the “Self Quantification” movement: I was an SQer long before it had a name.
I’m not particularly looking to attract a romantic partner. That hasn’t been an issue (else I’d probably have started experimenting again a long time ago). If anything, my current interest is in the newer social pheromone aspect and how to seem less intimidating in a new venture. (That would happen in time anyway --I’m a fairly jovial guy-- but months are eternities in a startup and I’m dealing a lot more with “public strangers” now than in the past)
BTW, my ex and I split many years ago (a cheerful mutual decision when the kids were grown, due to divergent lifestyle, interests, friends and geographic choices) I only mentioned her because she was startlingly receptive, almost comically so. More accurately, I believe we had an unusually good three-way fit, because I’ve also had (at different times) several striking incidents with other people and specific scent/pheromone(-like) substances that seemed to suit me well.
