I’ve recently dumped kettlebell training to focus more on bodybuilding (with fairly light weights like 30 lb dumbells).
What I have noticed is a huge decrease in energy not an increase. I feel exhausted all the time, have little energy to even want to talk and sleep an extra 2 hrs in the afternoons.
I thought working out would improve my energy.
This is my workout 2 sets 10 reps with 1 min rest interval
Day 1: Legs
Squat
Deadlift
calf Raise
30 min aerobics (threadmill at 65%-70% MHR)
Day 2: Chest Back
Seated Back Row
Lat Pulldown
Incline Chest Press
Flat chest Flyes
30 min aerobics (threadmill at 65%-70% MHR)
Day 3: Shoulders Arms
Upright Rows
Biceps Curl
Triceps Pressdown
Forearm Curls
Forearms Reverse Curls
30 min aerobics (threadmill at 65%-70% MHR)
Schedule: 3 on, 1 off, 3 on, 2 off.
Been at this for only a week.
I also noticed increased tension in the neck area and on my injuries like right ankle
I also noticed increased appetite.
My diet consists of:
Breakfast: 2 whole boiled eggs, 2 slices bread with light butter, and 2 cups coffee, with small amount of potatoes
Lunch: MRP
Coffee in the afternoon
Dinner: Salmon with vegetebles and some bread OR
Steak or Roast beef sandwich with vegetables OR
Chicken breast with vegetebles
Sometimes I’ll have another MRP during the day.
No coffee after 5 pm.
I DON"T eat deserts very often. .I am 41 years old, male of east indian decent.
Some observations: SInce I’ve started the program I’ve lost 1/2" to 3/4" in height. Before when I was using bodyweight with 10 lbs kettlebells I was taller. This lowers my self esteem and I thought weight training is supposed to help you look better.
Finally I take ZMA at night to promote restful sleep. I have bipolar and sleep has always been a problem. But as of late with ZMA I sleep like a baby and have vivid dreams.
Any tips?
I am currently 176 lbs on a 5’7" frame. I would like to drop to 168 lbs, losing mostly fat.
I hope I’ve been detailed enough.
