I’m a pretty average guy (aside from perhaps my sexual orientation). I work as a software developer, enjoy gaming and a fair amount of physical activity, and have trouble talking to guys I’m interested in.

I can’t help you much on the gay specific aspects of attraction using mones, however, I suggest you have a look at Hankbuddy’s journal in the men’s section. He’s a gay user and his journal is full of useful informations for you, I’m sure. Do not miss Zedster’s journal as well.
I can give you some general recommendations though. To help breaking the ice with guys you’re interested in, get IOpenness. It will let you strike conversations easily. Some Ishine will also make you more approachable by creating happiness around you.
