No, you didn’t bore us and its good you have a healthy amount of suspicion because yes, many phero sellers do overstate and oversell their products. I hope you will find that Androtics is not one of these firms and that the gc will help you try for yourself without significant outlay. Your intro certainly earnes it IMO.
Where to start? OK, pheros won’t do it all and you will need to do your best to adopt suitable attractive behaviours, body language appearance etc but when all this combines, I’d say they make the task easier.
For the pheros themselves, there are three main classes
Socials - Instant Shine, IO, IH
Sexuals - Ammo, TUTH, IJ
Status - A314 and to a lesser extent IG, which sits on the social/status fence.
For a good intro to pheros, Ammo and Instant Shine is generally a good start.
Ammo is a balanced social/sexy/masculine formula that can be used in most circumstances without being overbearing. It also gives you a bit of a confidence boost.
Instant Shine lifts the mood of yourself and people around you, and helps youseem good to be around.
Used singly and then together, these two ought to convince you that pheros work.
You also mention wanting to be more alpha - in which case A314 is worth considering as it is excellent for status and impact. It is not an easy phero to work with and not in itself an attraction product. Although it does convey certain very attractive qualities. The downside is that it can make you seem out of their league or standoffish unless you are very congruent with its signal - so work on your behaviour apace. Initially, you may find IG a lighter and more straightforward option.
As you are now 40, you may benefit from the “heavy” or 2x versions of Ammo and later maybe TUTH - This is because none output falls as we age and as a woman ages, she (generally) becomes more tolerant to a higher dose. Howerver, you should find your sweet spot with the 1x formulas first, then consider 2x if your dose adds-up appropriately.
You may also want to think about the “World Edition” scent of Ammo - There is a lot of discussion about its pros and cons to help you decide but IMO, the WE version sits better with UK sensibility for cologne scents. Other fragrance customisation is possible.

ETA - Delivery to the UK is expensive but far faster than US Mail which can take weeks. Androtics customer service is similarly excellent so any issues with leaks/damage etc are very quickly attended to.
