Hello there! I’m a fragrance aficionada living in rural Alaska. I just turned 28 and I’m interested in learning more about pheromones. I’m tempted to try a bottle of A314…is it possible for a woman to wear that blend? It would be nice to be treated with more respect. I’m also thinking about trying travel sizes of the blends especially for women.
Fragrance is my latest hobby…I’m a little obsessed with the French parfumeur Serge Lutens. My favorites from his line are Chergui, Muscs Koublai Khan, A La Nuit, and Ambre Sultan. I also love Thierry Mugler’s Angel, Narciso Rodriguez’s Musc for Her, L’Artisan Parfumeur’s Timbuktu, and Frederic Malle’s Musc Ravageur.
Bring on the pheromone talk! I’ll have to do a search on the forums to see if any ladies have tried A314. And I look forward to trying some products from smartmones.
Welcome AKMedic! I’ve a fragrance fiend myself and love Lutens as well - there are several of us here. I found this place via Basenotes, how about you?
I have A314 on order for my husband and you bet I’m going to try it, although it wasn’t designed for women and may be too much of a male signature for a woman to do well with. But I love MX134, a test version of A314 for women. MX105 has a similar feel also.
Getting the travel sizes is a great idea; that’s how I started out with Androtics products, though I’d used pheromones from Love-Scent before.
Have fun and let us know if you need any guidance!
Hee! Yep, I’m a basenotes fiend, and I found this place through basenotes as well! I will have to check out A134 and MX105…I’ll probably place an order as soon as I get my $15 from this forum. :o
Welcome aboard. What kind of male fragrances and/or colognes do you prefer? I’m always looking for the perfect fragrance, but its often hard to keep up with everything out there. A lot of times, I don’t know what to look for.
What a delicious top list of fragrances! Lutens is amazing, and I’m always constantly gushing, wearing and raving about Musc Ravageur (on both men AND women)
Hey, if you like Ravageur, ask for a sample of the Akuto fragrance of ours. It swirls around the same notes as Ravageur, but skips the sweet notes and goes more into dark, amber, sexy territory. It’s intended for men, but I’d like to hear your opinion on it!
PS - How did you get into your high end fragrance hobby to begin with?
There’s a little mention of women wearing A314 in this post:
Welcome to the forum. Your gift cert has been sent!
Hey Sigma…my favorite fragrance is simple and au naturale. Eucalyptus oil is easy to get at just about any health food store, or the type, and it has lots of really great qualities. It smells wonderful, vibrant, yet earthly and natural. It helps me breath easier and keeps my nose and sinus clean. I suspect that it helps people feel better about contributing the energy of an environment or a group of people. It certainly has this affect on me, and almost everyone I am around with on a daily basis has associated the scent with me, which sure is nice.
Thank you, Jasmin! I’ll definitely check out the other posts on A314.
Do you guys send the certificates through the post, or through email? I haven’t gotten mine yet…but that might be if you sent it postal mail. Also, I will have to try the Akuto fragrance. It sounds fabulous. I’ve always loved fragrance, but I didn’t start getting into it until my twin sister found Thierry Mugler’s Angel and it became her signature scent. I love rich oriental type fragrances, and so I naturally gravitated towards Serge Lutens, because rich oriental fragrances are his forte.
Sigma, I have to admit that I’m a little weird when it comes to men’s fragrances. In many of the aquatic fragrances like Acqua di Gio there is a distinct note that I just cannot tolerate. Several of the folks on Basenotes have theorized that my hated note could be any number of things, from aldehydes to random “marine” notes. There are also certain colognes that I have an aversion to simply because I’ve been exposed to uncouth men in elevators who have doused themselves in obscene amounts of their scent. Less is best, imho.
My boyfriend doesn’t wear fragrance, but I’m a huge fan of the Lutens line sicne many of his scents are equally appropriate for men and women. I love Ambre Sultan and Chergui so much that I’m going to ask my guy to try them on! I would have to say that my favorite fragrances for men are the same ones that I enjoy — Musc Ravageur, Timbuktu, and the Lutens line.
Thank you, and I’m so excited to be here on this forum.
