I’m a 24 year old RN from the south. I heard about this site (some good things) and thought it could help me out. Some people are here to increase their social status, some a solution to shyness, some for a great community, and some mainly for interest.
If you are looking for a boost in confidence, you might want to take a look at IS/b for women.
You do not need to be flirty to get guys to open up, I’m attracted to shy girls because they pose a challenge to me.
It’s all a matter of playing to your strengths, not weaknesses that counts.

I work with a bunch of women who have no problem talking to guys who they find attractive. I tend to be the odd woman out in those situations, but as mentioned before usually once I get to know someone better it’s like we’ve known each other forever (then I have a hard time being quiet). I also tend to be shy in a room full of people. I tend to only stick with those I know. Come to think of it, I’m the total opposite of majority of my family members…

You are already conscious of your reactions to social situations, so I don’t think you will have much problems if you continually work on them.

It is a very good thing when a woman is shy. I think being forward as a woman is not so much of a good thing but the lack of pursuing and hunting on the guys part tend to force that out of some women.
