What smells in nature do girls most associate with men and masculinity. What I mean is the smell of things like fruit, spices, flowers ect. In detail could you girls just ramble off as many everyday smells as you can think of which you immediately associate with masculinity upon smelling it.
That’s a very good question ![]()
I’m not sure I can answer that one… I personally think it’s easier to name scents I don’t find masculine & that I don’t find attractive on a man despite liking the scent itself.
I’m not a big fan of fruity scents in general but especially not on guys. At least not sweet fruity scents , fresh citrusy ones are quite nice & make the scent more unisex/masculine (eg CK One)
I also don’t like soft, white musk scents on guys, I find that really feminine. A lot of middle eastern & mediterrainean guys over here seem to wear it but it just doesn’t do it for me…
I suppose I find aquatic, spicy & forresty/woodsy fragrance notes more masculine ![]()
Sorry about not being more detailed about what I was trying to say. Well this is a great start. Okey so woody, foresty scents. What kinds of woody, foresty scents? Types of trees, leaves, ambient scents floating in the air. I hope this helps a bit.
LEATHER!!! I love the smell of it…
I have to agree with Lady, Leather is great combined with some outdoor scents. Oakmoss, ozone, greens with a hint of musk.

Hmmm, I actually think that the most masculine notes and the most feminine notes are not the sexiest notes. For example, herbs are very masculine and florals very feminine but warm, spicy, resinous and animalistic notes make a perfume sexy. A lot of perfumes that are straight herbals, while masculine, smell like grandpa. A lot of perfumes that are all floral smell like granny.
The sexiest masculine perfumes blend herbs, spices, resins and musks to make a complex blend that evokes manly qualities and allure. They would have mostly masculine notes with some gender neutrals and maybe a smidge of something traditionally feminine. It is good to know what notes in each family remind most people about what gender and to experiment with mixing them to find out how it interacts.
For example
Masculine----Neutral-------Feminine
Neroli---------Lemon------Mandarin
Black musk—Red musk—Blue musk
Basil----------Lavender----Rose
Tonka--------Dark Vanilla–Sweet Vanilla
Cedarwood–Sandalwood–Bamboo
Moss---------Grass--------Daisies
So something with Tonka, Basil, Neroli, lemon and Red musk would be masculine. Or Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Black musk and Dark Vanilla. You could make a gender neutral with Basil, Grass, Bamboo or Lavender, Tonka and Blue musk. But Red musk, Sweet Vanilla, Mandarin and Rose would make a girly perfume.
I like Bath and Body Works Cool Spring for men. It’s a nice, clean scent.
What would you girls think about a cologne that smelled like Banana Bread with Pecans, would you find that alluring? All I know is there are few things in this world better than getting a nostril full of the smell of fresh Banana Bread, maybe some of you think the same thing. Or how about Apple Pie? Apples,Cinnamon,Ginger and lemon.
P.S. I recently ordered a custom cologne with frankincense,Allspice,Lime,Rose and Chocolate…what do you think that will smell like, good or bad???
