Its been a while since I’ve used these products, like more than a year, I think. I have a new package coming - and its not here yet, but I was just wondering, like, whats the threshold for scent?
Ok, I know it’s a personal thing, and I need to re-test my levels and what works for me, yes, but the reason I’m wondering is because I personally don’t like when someone walks by and it is seriously a cloud that suffocates everyone within three to five feet of them. I get worried that maybe I’m wearing too much, but not having effects so I want to put on more, but don’t want the scent to be overboard. I hope I’m explaining that clearly.
Because, our noses get used to it if it’s on us. I just remember feeling a bit insecure, like - do I smell TOO good hahahaha. you know what I mean??
Because I haven’t even really gotten in to too much layering! And so, if I end up putting on you know, 2 sprays ISA, 1 spray IO 1 spray IS, 2 sprays P77, that’s like? SIX SPRAYS!!! hahaha, omg, and I feel like 2 sprays is the limit when it comes to how strongly I smell.
How do you feel about this/deal with it? And have you ever been approached and told you are wearing too much? I guess that I’m insecure because it happened to me before, even when I didn’t think I was wearing too much?
Your easiest question to answer is about mcgs. That is the measurement of how concentrated the pheromone molecules are within each spray. It doesn’t matter how much liquid is in the bottle. It doesn’t have anything to do with how much fragrance there is, either. For example, let’s say you have a bottle of product that says 5mcg on the side, and another that says 10mcg. They will both start out with the same amount of liquid, they’ll be the same size, the fragrance will be the same strength, and the same amount of liquid will come out of both of them when you spray. The only difference is that there is twice as many pheromone molecules in one of them, and people should predictably have stronger reactions to it.
As far as smell threshold, that really does vary by person. Thresholds can be generally predicted across people groups, though. For example, people of Middle-Eastern or Latin descent generally have a higher tolerance than white people, and East Asians generally have a lower tolerance.
I don’t think you should have much problem with AD products, though. I’ve never gotten a negative comment about the smell. In fact, one of the most positive responses I got was when I was wearing 5 sprays! It is good general practice to try to keep the fragrance level within reason by reordering higher mcg concentrations of products you tend to use more sprays of. But even if the smell seems a bit strong when you first spray it, AD products do tend to settle down onto the skin rather quickly, so it shouldn’t be strong for very long.
There was only one time that, by body language, I thought people might’ve been off-put by the smell. It was during a big argument among my friends. I slipped into the bathroom and put on 6 sprays of IS. I rejoined the group right away, before it had time to settle. I got a couple funny looks, like somebody was considering diverting from the argument to comment on my smell. But before that happened, the effects hit them. They were all smiling, shaking hands, and making up within seconds. And then the smell settled, and everyone forgot about it. So, it seems to me that if you successfully achieve the effect you are aiming for, the smell will be received positively.

Yea, I think that I was just thinking that instead of the products “Settling down” It was just my own nose getting used to it, but its nice to know that it does settle. Right now, I don’t have too many people in my life who would tell me if it was too strong. Haha, but maybe a splash of IH will do the trick
