i just been drinking lots of black tea
was thinking of picking up some green tea no idea if that makes difference
Are you also having a dry mouth? I’m thinking it may be the propylene glycol in your e-juice, because it absorbs the moisture from in your mouth.
You should make sure and drink water before you go to bed, after your last drag. Because otherwise its hanging out in your mouth all night.
I’ve started adding a little food grade vegetable glycerin to my e-liquid, it totally helps get rid of the dry mouth syndrome (if thats what it is that you have).
buckleys cough syrup. one teaspoon, and your done!
non-alcoholic, natural, and nasty tasting. like you swallowed an entire forest of pine trees. but it does work, and they sell it with expectorant, too.
About a week after sounds about right, but the phlegm and shortness of breath don’t jive with e-liquid drymouth, hmmm. If anything, you should feel healthier, I know I do since I’ve started.
I’ve started tweaking my e-liquid with vegetable glycerine, and it makes a huge difference with the dry mouth syndrome.
You might consider not vaping for a few days and see if it clears up. I’ve noticed that I get a little bit of phlegm too, but no sore throat. All my e-liquids are now cut with glycerin by at least half, giving me 16-18 mg nic content. That might be what’s keeping me from getting the dryness. I do experience a little cotton mouth fresh after a good vape, but a few sips of any drink usually clears it up.
Something to remember about vaping is that even though it’s not toxic smoke, it is something being inhaled into the lungs that the body considers foreign. Phlegm production is a natural way your body tries to expel foreign material from the lungs. See if skipping a few days makes a difference, and if so, you might want to try cutting back to what your analog use was, i.e. with the occasional Scotch.
I nearly didn’t reply because it seems right to be cautious when discussing medical topics.
However I would say that the conventional wisdom that a sore throat is due either to a virus (which will go away with time of its own accord, and for which antibiotics will be of no use) or to a bacterial infection (which will have very obvious symptoms and can be confirmed by swab + culture) is incomplete. There are other causes of chronic sore throat, and I would highlight mycoplasma and L-form bacteria. Mycoplasma do tend to respond to the right antibiotics (in particular Zithromax) taken for a longer period. Natural remedies might include olive leaf extract and MSM.
You might also try a lemon-olive drink and turmeric tea (just use a spoonful or two of turmeric powder in hot water) to try to manage the inflammation.
Hope you figure out the cause and get better soon.
