If anyone has seen this documentary or read the book was wondering what they though of it ![]()
When you get done with it, I’d love to read your opinion on it ![]()
I loved the original book. Haven’t read the 2nd one. The whole look at why crime dropped being due to Roe V Wade was eye opening and the whole thing about why drug dealers live with mom was hilarious but in the end so profoundly true. At least every pot dealer I’ve ever come across LOL
Unfortunately I saw the documentary which probably isn’t as in depth as the books.
Overall I thought their concept of thinking outside the box and going against conventional wisdom is what I try to personally do. It just goes to show that sometimes polls and statistics can be manipulated to serve the purpose of whoever is manipulating them.
I liked the part where the teachers were cheating to cause the increase in test scores of their students. To me it makes sense not to just believe everything you read or hear. I like the old adage to take things with a grain of salt and depending on where it’s coming from sometimes a boulder.
I watched a different documentary on marijuana and in that documentary at one point it said the reason the government doesn’t want it legalized is because it makes you question things and I believe that people need to question things that are going on around them or one day we won’t have any freedoms left ![]()
What documentary on pot was it that said that?
You must smoke pot or you wouldn’t have questioned that.![]()
Steve, It was the film The Union
Then there is the NPR (you know the radio system the Right wants to de-fund
) program called Marketplace, that every 2 weeks has a segment called Frekanomics Radio (http://freakonomicsradio.com/).
