What do you mean by “binding?” Are you asserting that the pheremones and other scent molecules are forming compound molecules that diffuse faster than their lighter components? Physics would indicate that heavier molecules would diffuse more slowly.
I can smell both animals and people and have not noticed the difference in range you assert. However, the possibility is interesting. I just don’t see how it would work.
Animals musks seem to master the laws of physics in ways that are hard to comprehend.
There is a good paper online about musks. I don’t have the URL offhand, but you might be able to google for it.
The physics of many of these chemicals isn’t well understood yet. They just work the way they do, NOT caring a hoot about what whether we think they should work or not. 
Some day when perfumery becomes more of public science, instead of the pseudosecret art it now is, we’ll be able to understand why.
For now, all we know is that when you add certain animal and plant compounds to ANY other scent – a pheromone or just a scent molecule you can consciously smell – you can detect them at a much greater distance. Perfumers can’t live without these molecules.
The skunk is one even a human can smell a mile away.

I’m also reading here that a musk ox can smell it’s food 20 miles away, so maybe animal scents spread even further than we think.

I’ve had so many new things to try, it’s been on the back burner.
School is finishing up. Finals!
Plus I’ve been trying the A314 and Chemical Romance MX that I promised Jasmin I would post about.
I still have Toilofdays MX that I haven’t tried…
So I’m thinking sometime this coming week will be my rebirth of the mix.
I can’t wait to hear about the results you get though.
I know it’s been a long time since I posted about this MX, but currently I am in production of an MX series of 4 or 5 different variations of these. Once completed they will be given to experienced testers for research and feedback.
Looking forward to getting it done and in between my mom in the hospital, moderating the forum, a full time job in advertising/marketing, many lovely women in my life I am working very late hours to complete this task.
I’d like to thank Toilofday who should be back any day now for initial research and development, Jasmin for encouragement and financial support to get it into an MX, Dancing_joker for incredible mixing advice, and countless others for feedback.
