p96, Day 6
Ok, so this is quite unorthodox. It’s definitely odd to admit to, but the nature of scientific research is to do odd things. I just read some posts where people had a friend that they’d spray something on so that they could experience how the mones made them perceive that person. That sounds like a great idea, but I don’t really have a way to do that. I’ve chosen to not tell my friends about mones. I don’t want to taint the experimental subjects by divulging information, and also I don’t want to put up with questions and opinions. People would probably think this was all witchcraft or hooey. (Admittedly, I do sometimes feel like I’m in Snape’s potions class!)
There is one friend whom I’ve told, and she’s visited the forum. She never really got into it, because she had a disappointing lack of results, and just got too busy to care about giving it another go. I hardly ever see her, so that just wouldn’t be practical. This is her:
So anyway, I was also reading about how animals have been observed to be very sensitive to pheros. I have a cat. I put 2 and 2 together and decided to try using my cat as a tester. Blasphemy! I figure I can see how I perceive her, as well as note any personality changes on her part (possible self-effects). Well, here’s how tonight went:

That cat did not like the smell. Poor thing, I made her wear stinkiness. No initial change in her actions or my perceptions. Knowing p96’s time element, I waited a half hour. I was sitting in my usual spot on the couch, and she was sitting in her usual spot, 3 feet away from me.
At the half hour point, I still felt no change, and I didn’t smell the mones. I went up to her and pet her and gave her a little hug. When I hugged her, I got a whiff of the chocolatini, which by this point just smelled like soap. She didn’t seem tortured by the smell any more. The very instant I smelled it, I was seized by a feeling that my cat was the CUTEST DAMNED THING in the world! I got all lovey and was petting and scratching her. She loved it, but obviously didn’t quite feel how I did, because she decided after a few minutes that I should leave her alone. She didn’t run away, though. She stayed sitting 3 feet away from me for the next 4 hours.
At roughly the 3-hour point, I went back over to her and gave her a pet and a cuddle. The scent had faded quite a bit. When I smelled it, I felt endeared toward her again, but not nearly as much as before. It’s like the strength of the effect matched the strength of the smell. When I wasn’t smelling it, I didn’t feel it.
She spent practically the whole time napping. Then around the 5-hour mark, she came over and laid on top of me. She was purring furiously and prodding for me to give her affection! This is incredibly rare for her! She always likes to hang out in orbit of me, but she rarely lays right on top of me. If she ever asks me for affection, it’s usually because I had already initiated, and she decided I wasn’t done yet. But for her to lay on top of me AND initiate affection at the same time is practically unheard of! I only very faintly smelled the fragrance, and I certainly didn’t feel any effects. 12.5mcg must’ve been OD for her, and then she must’ve started feeling the intended effects as it wore off.
So there you have it.
