Its unravelling already - The ward I was told to report to was closed, so I was sent to another ward, who didn’t know what to do with me, so I was walked (well hobbled) to the arse end of the hospital and dumped in a ward there. Nobody’s told me a bloody thing but at least my work internet gets me on to the Hospital WiFi!
I have my own supply of strong painkillers stashed at the bottom of my bag - if the NHS fails, I won’t go wanting!
I grabbed some popcorn before I sat down to read your posts this morning. Totally worth it. I am glad you have extra pain killers. I always try to store extras from previous perceptions. Still think you should tour America. I think I read you were from Scotland somewhere. Americans would dig your Scottish Accent. Good luck on the recovery. Is that the only surgery you’ll need?
So I didn’t see it any of the other posts so far but how long have you been in this fight with this surgery thing been going on. The earliest post regarding surgery that I saw in this one was Oct. 25 2012. But I know the problem with the pain has been there longer then that.
Yes, it was a full year before they accepted me for surgery. Hopefully no more - My shoulder is responding well to less invasive treatments but a few more may be needed.
And the States is one of the places I intend to get back to as soon as I’m fully fit again.
Three weeks post-op yesterday, bruising is almost gone and today was the first day I managed to get out and about with only one crutch. Still bloody sore but progress is good.
Another step forward after a long time of not a lot happening.
Today, no pus had drained from the wound and the scab is now mostly gone.
If it keeps-up for maybe two more days, I can start to work on getting my fitness back-up to scratch. I’m amazed at how weak my foot/leg has become after all this time.
I also made it out at night for the first time since before the surgery last weekend - just one sedate place that was pretty quiet but its a start. Was hoping to get out tonight but was too tired/sore after a good longish walk in the afternoon. Hopefully next weekend will be better!
Thanks - Yes, for the first time in a long time, the end is really in sight!
It will be a while before I go dancing again but if all goes well, I’ll be back into the gym tomorrow and hopefully ditch the crutch soon after -Although it is forecast to get rather icy/snowy around the weekend.
