Actually, I spent almost 4 years in Homestead (Miami) many years ago. Hate to say it, but I hated it. At the time was the highest cost of living, highest violent crime rate, and highest auto insurance rates in the nation.
Northern Florida appeared to be nicer.
miami is a different animal all together.

I love Miami!!! I was born and raised in the northeast, but I wouldn’t go back for anything…cafe con leche, mojitos, real cuban sandwiches, and cuban pastries…aaaahhhh…except the traffic, the traffic sux and nobody uses their turn signals…and the boys…the boys come from literally the four corners of the earth…and they are soooooo lovely…problem is they usually hook up with each other…oh well sigh
