I just got some Alter Ego for men in, and according to the product description it smells like a “light musk”; HOWEVER, the bottle I just received smells like a fresh clean citrus smell. The only thing I can compare it to is Aqua Di Gio. Is this the way Alter ego should be smelling?
Maybe they changed the scent. LS seems to never update product descriptions. And a new scent would be a good thing. The original AE was really sweet, heavy and cheap smelling. Reminded me of something a pimp might wear. Too bad as it’s basically an Ammo on steroids. Worked well for me but it bothered my nose too much. I gave mine to a student. He said his GF attacked him.
If AE really had a new scent that would be pretty great news! I’ve had my best hits ever with this stuff, but I wasn’t really into the scent package. I guess I will contact someone from “another site” which is also selling AE - maybe he knows something definite…
Yeah, I’d like to know too. I’m a little concerned about this one.
My contact doesn’t know of any scent change for AE, and it certainly doesn’t smell like Aqua di Gio. He’s written an email to the originial manufacturer (Stone Labs) to make sure that there really isn’t a new scent (although AE certainly needs one 
).
From which site have you ordered your AE? If they didn’t change the scent you might have been scammed there…
If AE really smelled like Aqua di Gio I’d buy it again in a heartbeat. Somehow I think it’s too good to be true. Probably the same old pimp juice…
I’m beginning to believe that myself. 
Well, I got it from Love-Scent, but here’s the thing I’ve ordered both Alter Ego, and Chikara from them; both products were lost or misrouted. Once by USPS, and the other time by FedEx(which is too conicidental). The Chikara I received has a gold top on it, and Chikara always has a silver top; and the Alter Ego smells absolutely nothing like musk, or cheap cologne, or pimp juice, it smells just like Aqua Di Gio or clean citrusy… whatever.
So some random USPS or FedEx worker emptied out the bottles, filled with Aqua Di Gio and exchanged the silver C7 cap for gold? Ah dunno, it they wanted it they’d just steal and pretend like it was lost.
I’ve been buying from LS since 2003 and they’ve been nothing but honest and forthright in their customer service. The few problems I had–all shipper problems not them–were fixed quickly.
Well USPS did lose it admittedly, and LS sent me another bottle with the gold top. I’m not complaining about LS either, because I know they aren’t responsible for the shipment problems I’ve been having, and I know they’re reputable too; but since I started buying from them, I’ve had nothing but problems.
I´d get the gold cap when odering it single …
and i´d get the silver cap later when ordered C7 in a combo…
C7 with the gold cap seems to be somewhat a newer version of it ..
works great .. the silver one as well…
Took a look at the manufacturers site and it says only that AE comes with a musky fragrance … pfff but site looks a bit … from the last century…
