New Ajmal AA Indian Pure Musk Ghazelle

Awesome! That’s what I love to hear. I love ya too. :stuck_out_tongue:

OK, I went to the dungeon, unlocked and opened the creaky oak door with the studded iron bands, went over into the corner with the potions cabinet, and opened it up.

It turns out I did get grey/dark ambergris, and also wild deer musk from Ham Firl. Both have been quite interesting and have been used with success in some of my oil-based mixes.

Sweet! I will definately get those then, as well as some oud and civet musk. The civet musk is in paste form so I will have to dilute it and mix it in perfumer’s alcohol which is no trouble for me since I already have perfumer’s alcohol on hand. This is an expensive habit like Denec said haha. :o Thanks a lot for your help GWTW.

Can you use the ambergris, wild deer musk and oud just in plain form without mixing it in anything else and it still be effective? This is in regard’s to Ham_Firl’s products. I know for a fact that you can do this with Ajmal and Agarscentsbazaar.

I occassionally use pure ouds (from Oriscent). Mostly I consider all of these things components and feel that their full potential is brought out in mixes. I often use sandalwood oil for a base.

People are looking askance at the references to “fecal” and getting strange ideas, not realizing that perfume components can smell unpleasant in high concentrations. That is one reason why these things should be diluted. Then the subtleties of the smells can emerge.

Some time ago I think I sent a pm to Jasmin with some ideas for a base for a314. Since then, the level of sophistication in perfumery evident on the forum has risen. Perhaps I’ll see if I can dig up that old communique and post it for those that may want a bit more unique base for unscented pheromones.

I would love to see your old comment and post about that. Thanks for clarifying about the ouds, dillution etc. It makes sense that all of the natural subtle/hidden scents would come out more when it is diluted because the harshness is not present.

I own 1 ml of his Double Super Kalmantan, which I think is superb cost me $40

Pure DSuper Kalimantan Oud/Aloeswood/Agarwood oil 1cc

it took about 3 weeks to get to my doorstep

i love it not fecal at all, but not floral and not like the musk, it smells like earth and vetiver , best comparison is to encre noir

SilkyKitty if you want something with depth and mystery then try this: Agarscents Bazaar - Fragrances,Agarwood/Oudh,Musk &Ambergris

Also there many Mukhallats from the Major Houses in the Niddle East like Ajmal, Arabian Oud, and Abdul Samad al Qurashi.

There is a couple by Arabian Oud that come to mind called Prince Diamini and King Fahad Blend. Both are fantastic and very mysterious useing only the highest quality oils.

I would suggest anything with a Oud and Rose blend or Musk and Oud softened by some florals.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion Denec. I will definately look into this product. Sigh So many things I want to buy, not enough cash. :frowning:

Thank you for the recommendations.

My only concern about them is about the Rose and florals, and that they might be too “sweet and girly”. I do like sweet, don’t get me wrong, but in a deep subtle way, not in a “spring-like” way. I don’t want to smell like a man, but neither do I want to smell like a flower shop

most attars from the major houses will not smell girly at all. Prince Diamani smells of Ambergris and salt with Agarwood and a light touch od Taifi Rose that only softens the harshness of the Oud but does not make it flowery

you should try Agarscents bazzar’s Mukhallat Said al Hind. It is a good balance with out being manly mor feminie a little sweet and Oudy. It does not smell perfumey or anything

Okay, so if I were to order maybe 4 or 5 samples, which should I try?

The Black Musk Cambodia I think would be one, if DR. Fedora’s description is accurate.

I dont know if Agarscents sells samples but they do send samples with an order. If you dont want to spend alot at first i would suggest buy something on the cheaper end and request specific samples. Lets say you decide to buy the Agar Musk Black Cambodi, then I would sugest to ask for these samples: Dehn Ambergris White, Dehn Misk Maliki Supreme, Mukhallat Shayukh, White Musk Mutaslik. Non of them are feminine except the White Musk Mutaslik but it is not a western feminine rather it is a mysterious eastern feminine and quite lovely.

Do you know any of them that might spell.. hmm, spicy? Or oriental? Those tend to be some of my favorite base notes, along with vanilla. But i’m not sure there’ll be much vanilla in those oils, so i’m shooting for spices.

Have you ever smelled Angel perfume, after its dried down?

Do you mean A*Men? Or who is Angel from? I’ve seen it before, but haven’t tried it on my skin to be honest. I could give it a try next time i swing by the mall.

Yeah, I think it’s Angel by A*Men or whatever, I think she might mean that one. I’m curious to try that one as it seems to be very popular at basenotes so it must be good. I think they say it smells like chocolate? I’m sure denec will give us more info on what this one smells like!

I’ve only tried the Angel for women, its made by Thierry Mugler. When you first smell it, or put it on, its a bit much. A little goes a long way. But when its dries down, watch out. This guy I used to work with said he followed a woman all around a supermarket because she smelled so good, and that’s what she was wearing.

I dont like Angelmen, it is way too cloying and just way too sweet!

if you can do a half spray you might be able to get away with it

There are much better gourmands that I enjoy like Rochas Man though it is more on the vanilla/lavendar side.

Another good one that tends towards choclate by Rochas is called Desir de Rochas pour Homme and is fairly cheap think goes for around $30

another good one and I love is L’instant de Guerlain Pour Homme Extreme EDP what a classic, but is hard to find I got it for $37 I love it!!! chocolate but not overly sweet
