There’s a lot of talk here about OD-ing on mones, but I’ve found significantly less discussion on OD-ing on scent. In my (youthful) stupidity, I bought a 2.5mcg/spray vial of p83, and (maybe as a relic from my basenotes days) cannot bring myself to apply more than four sprays. I hate being The Cologne Guy. This can, and will, be solved in my next order, when I get p83 in a higher concentration if it is still available.
My question is- with all the combinations that you guys do, do you keep a scent OD limit in mind along with the mone OD limit? If so, how much? I see guys going out with 2x IS, 2x IO and 2x IH (and more). That’s 6 sprays at least, which is more than enough to make you stand out, and make your co-workers gag.
I cant speak for the guys but I do. In neroli scent I can wear up to 6 or 7 sprays but thats the limit. Neroli drys down light so its not like a commercial perfume. It also binds well. You may smell it strongly because the scent molecules have bonded in your olfactory system when you applied but others dont smell it as strongly. I am sure since you are a member of basenotes you know to go smell a can of coffee beans to clear your scent palate to be sure.
When I layer I tend to scale back on what my normal dosage I tend to use when applying just one product because you have more pheromones in play.
When I get a putative for layering I usually buy 12.5 which is the standard dosage Jasmin always suggested to everyone. In things like IO Ishine and IH I get them in 2X or 4X to cut back on the over scenting.
Men need to be most careful when getting anone products in the higher concentrations like double ammo or tuth 5.0 because of the anone content and the risk of build up and OD but the rest you can get in higher concentrations once you know your dosages.
Yea I hate being the guy that smells way too much too, but neroli and even akuto (only less) when they dry the smell goes way down. I find I can do 10 sprays of separate things with neroli and yea it smells way to o much, but an hour later it is just about perfect.
Thanks for this thread…I had the same idea of making one like this today actually. I am on my first week of testing out mones, and have gotten to 4 sprays of IO to find my sweet spot. I have not determined if it is too much yet, so I feel like 3 sprays might be my spot. So, in light of this reaching of 4 sprays…I noticed that I really don’t feel comfortable adding more than 3 sprays…with respect to being the ‘cologne guy’.
The idea of adding more layers of mones to my sweet spot of 3x IO could pose a problem. I guess I’ll have to splurge on the higher dosage bottles! That comment about smelling coffee beans is interesting…I never thought of ‘clearing’ my scent palette, thanks Tisha!
I understand the drying effect with the scents added, so it doesn’t act like a commercialized cologne/perfume. However, it would be interesting to have a product that was solely geared for newbies that don’t feel comfortable or don’t know how to properly mix, that is added as a layered spray in effort to reduce scent without affecting the mones.
So it would be an no-scent spray to apply on top of the layered mix of several mone sprays that would diffuse the effect of having say 5 or 6+ sprays on. Maybe I’m being silly in saying this, but it sounds like a worthwhile product if possible…that could help newbies out and provide another product for AD to profit off of!
I understand that and absolutely agree, but that’s not an OD. Just semantics but yeah too much scent stinks like a French Whore. I think the french have a lot of whores who stink .
I never have an issue with Neroli, so I tried to balance my order using a bit of neroli and some akuto. The Neroli seems to dry down and go away quite quickly for me allowing the akuto or F22 to work its magic.
I used to put 2 - 3 sprays of ammo on and use my P83 with 6% akuto scent to help tone down the (IMO) overbearing smell of ammo. My girlfriend says that the akuto really helps balance out the ammo smell (cologne smell of course) with a nice almost cinnamon and laundry smell. Other than that I have noted that after 10 - 20 minutes neroli is really only good at times when you are up close to people as the smell dies down. But I would imagine with these things in mind I would say getting an OD on scent is less likely after you let the smell die down a bit. Once again IMO lol
