OK, look what i did...

1 Tobacco Vanille Tom Ford

  • Size:1 oz.

    1 Black Code by Armani

  • Size:1 oz.

1 Acqua Di Gio

  • Size:1 oz.

1 Green Irish Tweed Creed

  • Size:1 oz.

1 The One by D&G

  • Size:1 oz.

1 Red Giorgio

  • Size:1 oz.

I know right, I went the cheap knock off route, but I like them I will go for the real samplers.

The One I am hoping is somewhat similar, and the red for men is now discontinued.

I’m confused… so what about getting the 30mL bottles of each of those is a knock off? I know at least TF Tobacco Vanille is a pretty high-end niche fragrance. Do you mean you got imitations of all of those fragrances, or got decants of them? Cause i was pretty sure they didn’t see TV in anything other than 50mL and 250mL bottles. That’s why TF products are popular for splits.

I got TVTF as a 1oz split from a friend, rest are from the common scents.

seems I missed that.

other than the TVTF the rest were inexpensive and as I have tried the originals except the red, I wanted to see how close they are to the real thing.

Have you checked out The Perfumed Court website? Can’t remember exactly who posted it originally but they have a great selection of decants to try, and it is a lot more reasonable than getting a big bottle of something that may take a year or more to use.

I saw that and is where I will be getting my decants when I decide to get them, but for now I am checking out the low end so i can appericiate the high end

I have to recommend that you get the Basenotes Award winners from them. The scents are top notch. The winners any year for the independent, artisanal or niche fragrances are my favorites and I reccomend that you try them.

The Perfumed Court is a great resource for finding rare or locally scarce fragrances to sample, but lately i’ve been moving away from ordering from them when possible. i mean, let’s be honest, those samples are expensive. I know that those ladies are running a business just like anyone else, but i try to look around first at places like Lucky Scents to see if i can find a sample cheaper, then go to them if i get desperate.

And i NEVER buy large decants from them. Anything above 2mL, you’re probably paying for 3/2 what you’d get somewhere else. Some other options are to look for splits on Basenotes, or go to The Crystal Flacon or Scent Splits (my personal favorite). Those are sites that allow anyone to sell decants, so the prices are usually pretty competitive. And a lot of the people who sell them there can point you somewhere showing their feedback rating (be it ebay, basenotes, or MUA).

Anyways, i’m super tired, so sorry if i began to rant. Just thought i’d throw out some more possibilities for getting a decant.

Excellent info, you should twitter that info.

Thanks for the scent splits tip. It’s looking promising for my upcoming selections.
