I spent about 6hrs this morning reading up his Venusian Arts book, and I liked it! But this article just makes me wonder if it still works. Though, they are kinda wrong about
He says that you should wear something cool and attention getting, but he doesn’t exactly say what. This is used for conversation starting, but the item does not have to create a positive response to work, it just needs a response.
Is there anyone here who regularly uses the MM and can confirm that it still works?
I just read the MM and I can say it all works. Ive been using the “attention getting” items-wear for years now and it really does help. Honestly you really cant wear anything bad as long as it is either within it context of the scenerio, day’s events, or a neutral piece (such as LED belts). Not only does it create a conversation starter, a possible multiple thread, and positive response but it also shows uniqueness and individuality…If a person can pull this off right and use it to his advantage, it can be an extremely high boost in DHV. For example, P. Diddy going to the clubs wearing sunglasses all the time…because he knows how to work with it, it shows a nice set of DHV (this is of course looking past the fact he’s a multimillionaire, but u do see the point).
The only downside to this is that it seems like it might take a month or less to really get it down and be able to incorporate ur own ideas and routines…but thats like anything though, it takes practice…the more u try, the easier it gets.
Ive been using sunglasses in a nightclub, non-traditional male jewelry (such as a ring with a gem in it) yet keeping it simple and not overdoing it, different types of caps/hats (such as kangoos, bright color caps, etc.), unique clothes patterns such as bathing apes, ties that still parallel with the clothes im wearing even if its a t-shirt and jeans, gothic pieces, french cuff shirts (how many young guys wear french cuffs…not many, yet it still delivers a GQ style)…even buying a bright/colorful drink from the bartender allows you to recieve attention.
Mix it up every now and then but dont make the change to dramatic to quickly in places too close…thats to avoid hypocritical attention from others…remember ur trying to build social proof and increase DHV.
It only works if you’re able to deflect the negative attention they can bring to you. If you walk into a club with a pink sombrero and somebody lips you off and there is enough attention brought to it, major DLV and you’re fucked. Unless you’re quick on your feet and you can put a comedic spin on it, or burn the dude back.
It essentially entails to give women a wtf factor and if you’re able to turn it into a charming conversational piece then it goes in your favor. I once saw a guy with goggles on his head, wearing eye glasses, a blazer, and he had shorts and sandals on. The guy had a real geeky appearance to himself to begin with. Really funny. Not sure if he read MM, or was just a weirdo.
It also depends how secure you are with yourself. If you think you can’t do it, then you quite simply can’t.
Great post. I’m reminded of that story about Mystery wherein he’s at a party, all decked out in Mystery gear, and some girl comes up to him and says, “I hate your goggles.” He was able to control the situation (via his own inner state) enough to turn it into something ultimately positive. But if he hadn’t possessed the skillset he did, those googles could have been much more of an impediment than an asset.
