life certainly is fun, and life is funny too. it’s like a nice cycle of amusement.
thank you! i had to come back strong after being dragged down last week with stress so this actually felt good physically and in a phero sense.
i went to a callout for a club tonight (photography) and wanted to play with ig, something i’ve been overlooking lately. i checked the club’s website before i left and it seemed that many of the members were fairly amateur. it was more like a “how to crop people out of photos and fix red eye” club. i’m not a pro by any means nor am i currently big into photography, but back when i had access to a darkroom i went around town with my slr and played around with developing film. when dslr’s came onto the scene they were a bit too pricey for me, and once the price dropped, i had already moved on to other interests and hobbies.
knowing this, i figured i had more experience than most of the members. i wanted to portray a “knowledgeable helper” type of vibe. a314 would’ve been too much, unless maybe i was the club’s sponsor or a true professional willing to teach. i chose this mix:

3s ishine hair
2s cttm neck
many of the members were younger too so i didn’t want to go too heavy on the ig, but usually 2s is fine for me.
i got to the meeting and the first person i meet happened to be the president (unknown to me at the time). pretty much the perfect candidate for my mix cloud. i spoke with him for about 10 minutes regarding a whole variety of topics. throughout these 10 minutes i gradually introduced my knowledge of photography and my willingness not so much to participate (honest and true reason of too much work in school) but to be around as an extra helping hand.
also throughout these 10 minutes, the president became entranced with what i had to say. he had roughly the same experience as me, and probably more since he owns a dslr setup, but i must’ve been coming off as some photography monster. he asked some questions during this time and took a long-ish time to phrase them; i don’t know if he was searching for the right words or wanted to sound smart, or what. eventually some more people showed up and they were legit interested in joining so we excused ourselves and he showed me to the catered food.
i made one pass through the food line (subway sandwiches, 3 hot trays, chips/drinks) and before i was done, i had heard my name murmured all around the room. he deferred the interested people to some lackey so he could get their information, then continued going around the room. i got my food and went to go sit next to a kid who also had just gotten his food. we talked casually and i offered some advice on a digital camera for daily use. during this time i was no longer within earshot of people saying my name but i did see lots of heads turning up to look in my direction.
after we finished eating we sat mostly in silence as we watched college football. later on i found out that roughly all of the leadership had been notified of my presence – the heads i saw looking at me belonged to the vp, treasurer, activities director, etc. i felt like i was overstaying my welcome a bit by eating the free food and not even wanting to join so i started to make the appropriate goodbyes before leaving. almost all of the leadership crew came over to say hi/goodbye and let me know of future events and activities.
definitely a good and surprising day for pheros. they carried my vibe farther than i expected it to go. it felt great to see ig back in action too – the status was good and the respect was high, but people weren’t shaking in their boots around me.
