Does anyone know how long pheromones can be stored without losing any of their potency? Don’t tell me that it doesn’t have an expiration date cause everything does from beef jerky to plutonium(half life). And what’s the optimum storage temperature for the product? What are the effects on pheromones when they are stored in hot temperatures(probably denaturation so it becomes useless)? What are the effects if they are stored in a cold temp? When I say pheromones i’m referring specifically to the androtics line.
Hey, I want to follow that up with a question about safety and “durability” of pheromones at the other end of the temperature spectrum …
Let’s say I have a warm salad – 120F / 49C – does the heat ruin the Instant Shine? How hot before the molecules were denatured?
Is it safe to eat food sprayed with Instant Shine?
i wouldnt be in a hurry to ingest any of it! licking the stuff is something i only heard catlord17 talk about.
please tell me you are joking…:o
I think you’ll be glowing for approximately 30 minutes if it’s a green salad … 2 hours if it’s dessert. BBQ ribs? phosphorescent!
Instant Shine is not harmful to ingest in small quantities, if I remember correctly. I asked for them to come up with a good tasting version, but have heard nothing of that. The reason was that I kept getting women kissing and licking the application spots.
Instant Shine is bitter. I know this because I spray it on my upper lip to balance out bad moods. It gets on the lips and I end up tasting it. Don’t have any information on shelf life or temp.
honestly Carrie! im much more concerned about the antennas that appear after the second course…![]()
Someone mentioned spraying retail merchandise to boost sales earlier today, so my mind ran to other similar possibilities …
would you know anyone who knows anything about the shelf life or temp?
I sent a PM to Jasmin (an administrator) bringing your question to her attention. I think they’re extremely busy lately.
I also checked the forum at Love-Scent, did a search on “shelf life” and found lots of threads about it, including responses from the store owner. You might want to check that out … the consensus was that they last several years at least if stored properly.
Just an aside - in terms of labeling regulations, I gather that pheromones are classified as cosmetics, which don’t require expiration dates.
Thx for all the research carrie, I’m gonna check around a little to see if there’s anymore info about it
From my observation of effects, I have a handful of oil based products that remained effective after 2 yrs or so, and alcohol products that coming to a year without deterioration. Storage is in room temp in not much light.
Some have cap/seal problem, evaporating by themselves, NPA is one of those.
I seem to remember that 140 degrees F (60C) is the point where ~mones start getting damaged.
was there ever a consensus reached on this? any word from jasmin?
also, anyone think there would be a difference between spray pheros stored in a togo bottle vs a regular bottle?
Bitrex is bitter. It’s used to denature alcohol so the ATF doesn’t tax it as a beverage. Nasty to drink or lick.
My wife has also noted the bitter taste of some alcohol-based Androtics products. I’m betting it’s bitrex in the perfumer’s alcohol and not the pheromones themselves.
I like to use ethanol when I’m whipping up my own creations, as it doesn’t have the denaturing agents. Every once in a while someone pops up and announces you shouldn’t use ethanol, it’s not as (insert some quality) as perfumer’s alcohol.
I am curious as well, has there ever been a consensus on this forum on the matter? ![]()
Edit: found another post on Pherotalk which does address the issue.. here is the thread Do pheromones expire?
Dominick
Sometimes i leave my blue bottles in my black car. At noons the temperatures can reach 34 degrees Celsius. Till now the pheromones are still effective.
Kept in there blue cobalt bottle in a cool dark place mones can last for years. They are in a alcohol carrier which preserves them.
If they get hot to over 140 degrees F (60C) or are left in the sun or car they can break down. Unless you live in hell it doesn’t get that hot often and if it does stay in the house and pop your mones in the frig and pray for relief.
Alcohol, which the mones are carried in doesn’t freeze unless you live in Siberia in which case…stay in the house and keep your mones there to.
Oil breaks down and lasts about 2 to 4 years. I popped on down to bed and bath and bought a air tight container for $10 and I keep my oils in there to help them last longer.
Sun light is more of a problem then heat or cold. Keep them in a dark environment.
Remember your to-go bottles are not air tight or in a cobalt bottle which protects it from the sun.
