Pheromones Having Opposite Effect?!

Hi all,

I was really on the fence about posting this thread, but I couldn’t find anything by searching on it and it’s really been bugging me!

First of all, let me preface this by saying that this isn’t a complaint or bashing thread, it’s purely me trying to get some answers from other phero users.

I’m 27, male, 5ft7, 72kg, of Pakistani descent (born and raised in London :smiley: ) - and I’ve been fascinated with pheros for a few years, but only dived in last year, starting with Instant Shine.

I’ve always been a slight introvert unless I’m required to be an extrovert in social situations, so I thought IS would be helpful in making it a bit less of an effort to be likeable, however whenever I sprayed it (2x on neck) within 5 minutes I’d start to feel really down so I laid off it.

A year later I received a voucher for Androtics so I ordered IS again + A314 (and also got P102 thrown in for free, haven’t used it yet because I don’t know what it is).

They both arrived, and I thought they’d help me in some business meeting environments I was going to be in.

But instead of feeling authoritative, confident and cheerful, I became extremely sad, and very shy! So shy in fact that I was having trouble even maintaining eye contact with the person I was talking to, it was borderline embarrassing, and I found out afterwards that she said I was “cute” (baby cute, not attractive cute!)

The IS was getting me so down that I would literally start to feel a lump in my throat, and it seemed that the A314 was taking my confidence levels down from my usual 5 out 10 to minus 10!!

So has anyone come across this before? If so, how do I fix it (if I even can?? Or am I just biologically incompatible with these products?

What I have found out from years of testing products is the ones that are most effective are the ones that compliment YOU and your personality, if you’re not an Alpha wearing A314 is going to work against you because of two reasons.

  1. it will confuse people because they are getting this strong Alpha signature but yet you are not taking the lead and lack confidence. You know how some guys just look akward wearing a suit? It’s a similar situation with A314 if you don’t work it, your going to look awkward and people will just dismiss it.

  2. Your body is used to your natural signature and all of a sudden your giving of this dominant aura, to begin with your body is not going to recognize that the signal is coming from you and it will feel like you are in the presence of this intimidating, strong alpha which will make you even more quiet and shy.

instant shine is a funny one, some people get a really relaxed almost euphoric feeling from it but I know people who get quite anxious and down when they wear it.

If you’re a natural introvert and lack confidence I think you will get better results from something like IG and IH.

Personally, IS and P83 are some that just seem to do nothing or the opposite effect, so I lay off them. I think ultimately, it’s up to what natural signature you have and whether the mones compliment it or not… Some probably don’t, so they may not work for you.. But luckily there are a lot more.

I personally don’t like to use IS too much. It doesn’t give me opposite effects, but the effects are too short-lived to be very useful to me. And after the effects wear off, I experience a crash. There are definitely other mones that are useful in different ways, but are more effective at accomplishing what I’d want out of IS. The consumer line is definitely not one-size-fits-all.

I agree with the suggestion that you try IG instead of A314. It is much less strong, and gives more of a smooth feeling. It should cut out the intimidation factor. I have certainly intimidated myself with the pheros I was wearing, and it sounds like that is what you experienced. IH may be a good compliment to IG, but definitely test them separately before using them together.

Some people have been experimenting with using MX335 instead of IS. The effects are longer lasting, not as extreme, and there is no crash. I have found it to be a wonderful choice for myself, and so has CelticPrince.

IS can leave you feeling down/tired and drawn after a while, esp with high dose/on topup and its effects are often most pronounced the first few times you use it. A314 is another situation altogether but its a lot more difficult on an introvert as there is a bit of an element of your needing to catch-up with your new phero signature and until you do, yes you can often feel somewhat more thoughtful, serious, collected and even wonder why you are using it - This could also contribute to you lack of confidence if tou tend to overthink to begin with.

Again, dose/version/application is maybe a factor, so it helps us to know.

Ok interesting, I’ll look in to those, it’s a big effort for me to be outgoing and confident in social settings, I CAN do it, I can get people laughing and wanting to hang out again but it takes a huge amount of energy just because I’m a natural introvert, so if those help then that’s the ticket!

I used 2 sprays of each on the neck, IS first then A314.

Sometimes I’ll only use IS, 2 on the neck.

Yeah the first 2 or 3 times I wore it I definitely felt uplifted, but after that it was downhill. I still love the fragrance but it’s too risky to wear it just because it smells nice.

That is far too much. Whenever you are testing out a new product, you should always start with one spray only. In fact, you may still be able to wear a314. Do one spray of it, and try buffering it with something much more mellow, like IG or IH. (Of course, test IG and IH solo before layering them with anything.)

Ah ha, that makes sense, I read a different thread when I first got started and followed that with 2 sprays to the neck!

I’ve tried one spray of A314 today, on the neck, rubbed it in a bit, I’ll be in a business meeting later on so I’ll see how it works out, hopefully the effects won’t have faded away yet, but for now I’ve not felt any of the shyness or intimidation of my own scent! Thanks!

People are unique, like beautiful snowflakes. What works perfectly for one person might be very different for another person. Chances are, the report you read was by someone who was quite used to a314, and knew that they could handle a higher dose. Following the example of someone else is fine, but you should ease yourself into it so you can learn how you personally react.
