Pheros got me kicked out of yoga class

As has been discussed elsewhere, not everyone reacts positively to pheromones.

I’ve been going to this yoga class for about 3 years. I really like the teacher. I like her husband even more, so I would not try anything sexual with her, plus as I’ve gotten to know her I find she’s got some personality flaws I’m not crazy about, but still, I was working on developing some kind of friendship with her as well as her husband.

To that end, I started wearing pheros to class. I tried different ones to see what reaction I might get. MX203, MX273, Instant Jerk, P79, Turn Up The Heat, A314, and Instant Openness, in different amounts (though never more than 2 to-go sprays or one standard spray) and different combos.

The main effect of all this was that she got increasingly freaked out by me. She felt I was intruding on her personal space (and this was a class where I set up my mat where I’ve always set it up and stay on the mat for the whole class). She started hiding from me in class, standing facing away from me or with another student between us preventing eye contact. After about 2 months of this it was starting to piss me off, so I put on 2 sprays of the regular size bottle of Instant Openness and that class I set up my mat on the far side of the room. She spent the whole class on the other side of the room, even when that meant half the class couldn’t see her because we were facing the other way. When I confronted her about it after class she said “You’re energy has been all over the place lately and I just can’t take it. So back off and give me space.” In the heat of the moment (and having subjected myself to a heavy dose of Instant Openness for over an hour) I said she was being silly and unprofessional to be hiding from me in class like that – and the damage was done. A few hours later I heard from the manager that I’m no longer welcome in her class. Ever. (In hindsight, she asked me to give her space and I should have done just that. She really couldn’t have given me a clearer signal that this wasn’t the time for a confrontation. My bad.)

My best guess is that she was/is very sensitive to the pheros and I’m pretty sure didn’t like having any kinds of the feelings they brought up being associated with me. It’s possible, too, that she either didn’t like the neroli scent to begin with or came to dislike it after being associated with the pheros. She definitely was confused and scared by the frequent changes of my phero signature after having been used to it being pretty constant for so long.

In any case, this is the worst thing that has happened to me that I can blame on pheromones, so I thought I’d post it as a cautionary tale.

Hmmmm Well my yoga teacher is a very spiritual in-tune women and she can pick up on my pheromones as well as place a persons aura very well. Most people who are into the metaphysical are very sensitive to signals people are sending. She will often tell me my aura is off if a mistakenly wear something I shouldn’t there. Course now she knows I wear pheromones so she understands it more and it doesn’t freak her out.

We often tell people its important to wear certain mixes in the correct environment and your experience indicates perfectly why we say that.

It doesn’t matter that you wore Instant Openness that day, The impression was already made with Turn Up The Heat and Instant Jerk. Yoga is defiantly not the place for these two products. I would have chosen something like TAF, P79, Instant Honesty, P74, Instant Shine for yoga not sexual or distracting pheromones.

Tisha

On rare occasions I’ve had certain persons creep me out in my classes. They didn’t do anything bad in particular but the creepy vibe just threw me off balance and proved extremely distracting. I would have loved an excuse to have them trespassed and get that damn thorn outta mah side. So it happens with or without pheromones.

I’m sure it wasn’t just the pheromones. It was something about you that bothered her but the pheromones helped put it over the top.

thank you for adding this report kSage, rep to you for putting the other side into the conversation. ultimately we all want positive effects but situations like this realy help to cement the fact that pheromones do work.

it’s unfortunate that you have been asked not to come back but on the bright side, at least where i am from you can’t point a finger without poking some yoga instructor in the eye, so i’m sure there are other classes around that will offer brand new opportunities for you to put all these things back into play.

who knows, you might only go one week or so before an apology comes in, asking you to come back to that class. keep your chin up, these things certainly do work but they need a bit of tailoring for each individual situation.

very interesting to learn that the first impression of TUTH stayed even when you’re only wearing IO a few weeks later. I had a similar situation, hadn’t worn Ammo for ages but this girl was giving me the same kind of hits as the day I first wore it.

Just another example of … the way you handle/carry yourself is so IMPORTANT when you’re wearing pheromones …

“I have on Turn Up The Heat damnit! Notice me! React!”

“I have on Instant Openess damnit! Talk to me! React!” 'Cause the people on the forum said so!

To me, t’wasn’t the the pheromones to blame … t’was the pheromone wearer. Then to top it off, you’re in my house telling me how to run it so to speak … I would have kicked you out as well.

haha wooow… good thing I didn’t use any pheromone colones in my yoga classes lol

Context-appropriateness: Good lesson.

It’s cool that you shared your experience with us. I do feel sorry for your teacher though, sounds like she put up with your “energy all over the place” for quite a while, as best she could. I try to aim for positive outcomes for all concerned when I do my testing. Deliberately OD’ing (any amount of TUTH in yoga class = OD because you get hot and diffuse more) or wearing things in strikingly inappropriate context may be interesting and fun for the wearer; for others around him/her? Not so much. ‘First do no harm,’ and all that.

Yup, you crossed the line from Guy in the class to Stalker.

I had a similar experience with an aerobics instructor, she thought it was weird I was the only guy in the class, (hey, I will admit she was not hard to look at) A friend mentioned what she had said in the locker room before a class one night, about the guy in class she knew it was me I was the only guy in class most of the time. So I stuck around after class and talked to the instructor when she was cleaning up let her know why I was there. After that she was pretty cool with it. I her 45 min aerobics class then went and swam for an hour or more, she was shocked at my workout routine.

If you are friends with her husband I would suggest starting by asking him if he knows what’s up. Then approach the teacher in a non-threatening manner, or talk to the manager and ask to speak with the teacher and the manager together to apologize for any miss understanding.

Reps to kSage for sharing an embarrassing situation that we can all learn from.

For a man, being in a very feminized environment like a yoga class (at least every yoga class I’ve seen) is similar to being in a foreign country. If there’s any “misunderstanding” the judicial system is incomprehensible and biased against you. [Getting pissed off is not an option.]

In such an environment, I have found that small amounts (2.5mcg - 5mcg each) of the feminine pheromones TAL and TAH make a tremendous difference as far as fitting in and being accepted. I also like some TAA oil (or Instant Shine).

I think Tisha nailed it here.

I think you’d be looking for a court order by following Woofie’s advice, this time. These people are already freaked out and they don’t know why. They’ve got nothing to discuss. Trying at this point to talk about pheromones is just going to weird them out more. And to a rational man’s mind kSage did nothing wrong. He stayed on the far side of the room and she accused him of intruding on her space. After being in the class for three years! WTF? If the husband’s still your friend he will come to you. Otherwise, stay away and value what you’ve learned.

And I suppose it goes without saying that you don’t test pheromones on people that matter. That’s what strip clubs and public transportation are for!

Yoga shmoga. Join a Tai Bo class and see what happens…

WOW…freaky! I will be placing my first order today and if I had doubts, I sure don’t anymore!

Yeah, they really do work. But in the same way, IMO, that a car “works” - you have to learn to drive it. It should not take you at all as long as learning to drive a motor vehicle, by any means, that’s just an analogy off the top of my head, but it does require a little practice I think. Do report back with your earlier experiences with details of your own mood, the environment and people around you, and we can share our experiences. I am just a noob myself, but I think I’m learning to phero-drive pretty well of late, I have got some good hits recently

Will do buddy. I just placed my first order an hour ago for A314 and Instant Female Magic. Really psyched

Driving a car is a good analogy, because anyone can get in a car and make it move, but to get it to do what you want takes some practice and patients.
Anyone can jump in a sports car and go fast, but to be able to move around a track or road course is another thing, likely on the first day most drivers will spin out a few times, while others will miss the turn completely.
But driving a car fast in traffic on a daily basis is crazy.

Oh yeah, do as I say and not as I do. Don’t try this at home kids I am a professional.

I second this. If you and the husband were actual friends, then he’d find you. If you were simply associates, don’t expect him to seek you out, and you seeking him out to inquire about his wife will quickly land you in the “oh, we’re not really friends after all” space.

If you were going to apologize, then it should be done to the manager and letting her know to pass along the information with no strings attached. DO NOT request a meeting with the teacher. You are far better off placing the apology for your comments with the manager and simply requesting that she forward the apology on. Anything more than that, and you’re violating her space yet again.

Simply put, learn from your mistake and move on.

“My best guess is that she…”

I’ll tell ya what I think. My best guess is she’s a wacko, i.e., mentally unstable. “Back off” and give her some space. Yeah, right! She’s already going out of her way to distance herself from you (as far as possible) and when you confront her about her anti-social behavior, she tells you that she all of a sudden gets bad vibes from you and wants you to “back off”? How much more space does she want? What a c*unt! (sorry, ladies).

I would not have been so polite nor left so quietly. You did NOTHING overtly incorrect nor harmful to her. She had NO right at all to have management kick you out of class!

Sorry, but I would have pressed the issue. I would have demanded to know exactly, on what basis, logical, legal, or otherwise, I was no longer welcome in class! If they could give me none, then I would have demanded that I be let back in or else threaten them with legal action!

E69,

Your comments are why the statement “Men are from Mars; Women are from Venus” still exists. As a man, I can’t logically figure out why she’s asking for more space when she’s doing everything she can to be worlds apart from the OP. But that’s because I’m thinking as a man.

Imagine for a second that you’re locked in a room with, I don’t know, a 365 pound lineman who has all put told you directly that he wishes to harm you. As a fellow football player, I’ve taken hits from these guys and I know the pain that they can inflict, hence why I dance around them and leave them looking silly. But if you’re locked in a room, you can’t go anywhere.

With respect to the OP and the teacher, she is likely in the same situation because the OP is more likely to be able to physically overwhelm her. It doesn’t matter if she’s on the other side of the room or not, just like it wouldn’t matter if you were on the other side of the room with respect to the lineman - she feels threatened by the presence. And because she’s obligated to remain in the room because of her contract, students, etc., it’s as though she’s locked in the room like you’d be locked in with the lineman.

Any of this starting to make sense?

In order to understand women, you need to learn how to think like one (or set up scenarios in which you’d somewhat feel how they’d feel). And the word “feel” is the key; men generally don’t act based on feelings and we compartmentalize everything. Women, on the other hand, are feelings propelled and don’t compartmentalize; everything is a combined ball of feelings.

As for your name calling and opinion about not leaving quietly, might I suggest some Instant Gentleman? Seriously, dude, what would that accomplish? Well, besides making yourself look like an ass?

As for taking legal action, please… Don’t the courts already have enough petty cases to deal with? The teacher asks you to leave and the manager puts you in other class. If the class doesn’t work out for you, request that the manager refund you with a pro-rate. Take the high road; the gentleman road.

All of the sudden, being a gentleman isn’t quite so easy. It requires a man to swallow that pride and ego and act humbly. This is where we separate the pretenders from the real deal.

“Your comments are why the statement “Men are from Mars; Women are from Venus” still exists.”

And probably always will. Even still, why should HE leave? She’s the one who is feeling UNCOMFORTABLE. LET HER LEAVE!

“Imagine for a second that you’re locked in a room with, I don’t know, a 365 pound lineman who has all put told you directly that he wishes to harm you.”

Your analogy is incorrect. The man made no such gesture. You may argue that he did via pheromones. I say: the broad is a bit wacky.

“In order to understand women, you need to learn how to think like one (or set up scenarios in which you’d somewhat feel how they’d feel).”

Yeah, yeah, yeah…that’s old news; I know it well. Still, I don’t put up with any irrational behavior, etc. or allow myself to be bullied by the distaff side.

“As for your name calling and opinion…”

I didn’t suggest I would call her names.

“…about not leaving quietly,”

You got that right.

“…might I suggest some Instant Gentleman?”

Uh, I already have that product. I prefer its more potent big brother, A314.

"Seriously, dude, what would that accomplish?

I would stand up for my RIGHT to be in class–that class.

“Well, besides making yourself look like an ass?”

That’s your opinion.

"As for taking legal action, please… Don’t the courts already have enough petty cases to deal with? "

Yeah, they sure do. Can anyone say: sexual harassment suits?

“It requires a man to swallow that pride and ego and act humbly. This is where we separate the pretenders from the real deal.”

Your university indoctrination has made you a bit too “touchy-feely.”

I don’t need any admonishment about being humble. I can assure you I’m a very humble man. A very humble man who doesn’t put up with ANY bullsh*t or abuse from others. I’m “tough ‘n’ tender,” to coin a phrase.

I act like a gentleman to ladies–NOT BITCHES.

On the other hand he is being treated and slandered like he is some kind of creep when he did nothing wrong. I’m not a confrontational sort but it kinda sucks having this woman slag you when you did nothing wrong. I would probably take my business elsewhere if at all possible.
