Neuroprogrammer 2 is a “mind machine” emulator sold by Transparent Corp.
Essentially it allows you, the end used, to build complex mind machine like programs that do interesting things to the shapes of brain waves… really dense layerings like the pattern I’m listening to at the moment, a six level induction that somehow feel closer to real thought that the earlier recordings and mind gadgets that have been on the market.
It does take some experimentation to learn the program, though hardly daunting, it isn’t immediately obvious either.
A few real surprises, one is the blistering rate that recording/playback technology is evolving today, moving toward computer based platforms that host high sample rates ( redbook CD is locked in at 44.1 K, high end computer sound can now do 192K samples pers second at 24 bit depth)…
You may think, who cares ? It’s only mind machine output, right. I was very surprised, as the program now permits choice of sampling rate, that setting the sample rate at 192 K was a completely different experience from 44.1 K… I mean, like totally completely. The takeaway lesson is that
192 K sound IS the future… an altogether distinct universe of listening enjoyment…
This kind of resolution on sucky computers ? That trounces heretofore egregiously expensive playback stuff ?
Yep… meanwhile ASUS is selling the XONAR Essence STX souncard… word is that the STX card kills… smokes everything in town… (also acts as a headphone amp… no more funky USB headset sound, you can go with real headphones… veeeery sweet way to choll at the screen!)
Benefit to you ? Your kludgy computer can now act as a high end music server, mind machine, and everything in between…
At the moment this thing is massaging my brain nicely…
